It begs the question though, will Inglis/Slater stay in league or will they also go to another code?
I really hope Inglis comes to us and doesn't go to another code.
Imagine if AFL signed Inglis and or Slater for next year as well... I mean they have the money to just buy out all our stars.

I gotta say I felt a lot worse about Hunt leaving as well. I had hopes he would help fill the void when locky leaves. Folau is still a bit of a one dimensional player with heaps of promise. He is worth the extra try he brings to a game, but I'm not super gutted now that he seems to be leaving.

pretty pathetic to be blaming bruno, how was he suppose to know AFL would come in and sign our stars with million-plus offers? and then how is he suppose to compete with those offers? at the end of the day if the player doesnt want to stay there is nothing the club can do about it, players dont sign on because of the ceo and they dont leave because of the ceo.
Players like Folau dont make the game, the game makes them. AFL will get their 60 seconds of coverage in league markets and at best because of it people will know who they are or even that they're there but it doesnt mean they will care. It will not make kids want to rush out and register for afl, they were following folau because he played NRL, not following NRL because of Folau. League fans will only resent AFL more, while they can buy NRL players, the public are not stupid and their support and tradition cant be bought. I would think any AFL player who has been working his butt off his whole career to get to the top of his 'sport' and earn half the million plus thrown at league players who have never played a min of it would be pretty pissed.

Just watching an AFL show now down in Melbourne, they are saying Izzy decided last week but confirmed his decision over the weekend. He hasn't signed the contract yet but is supposedly doing so in Sydney tomorrow.

In my current field of work, I could make at least double of what I'm currently with the Govt. if I went to the mining sector. However, I would rather my current lifestyle (Brisbane is great, my job isn't too stressful, I live with my direct family, I see my close friends when I want to, I can go watch my team, go to the movies etc.). If I lived and worked in the mining sector, sure I would be making a bucket load of cash, but my daily frame of mind would be negative.
I just hope that Folau is thinking with that level of maturity and assessing the impact on his life.

Well this is disappointing to say the least...
I'd hate to be Folau right now, being the poster boy of a budding fumbleball team deep in league territory.
Still, Inglis is a far better centre than Folau will ever be and now looms as a huge possibility for us.
With centres like Inglis and Hodges it'll be try time across the park!
