I actually expect macca's game to go up now Hodges is out of the way.
I find Hodges' dummy half runs would often stifle maccas game. Wouldn't be good for the confidence, having a guy always pushing you out of the way saying, "all good bro, i got dis"

I love hodgo and I find it difficult to say anything bad against him but on the whole the dummy half scoots affected Macca's game and for every one that came off at least 5 of them resulted in no ground gained.

Yeah. But a lot of them did still work. . It's hard, because last year he did one and he broke the line completely and put hunt in got a try against souths. He did another run, offloaded to kodi who made a great line break. He also got good penalties from it quarter of the time. The other times it would get an average of about 8-10 metres.

So that's still effective, just think macca now has the solace of knowing he's completely in charge now and could better his game being so

So after weeks and weeks of waiting we announced Roberts signing 2 days before Christmas and it is now the 7th of January and the contract still hasn't been approved by the NRL. We also don't know anything for certain about Copley. I'm getting fairly annoyed with how this whole thing works. What do you guys think about the suggestion that we have a player trading window to streamline this process. Apart from annoying me this crap really isn't a good look for the game. Just seems unprofessional.

having a background in red-tape myself, there must be a degree of compliance/procedural related parameters involved, but that only makes me hate Oz sports administration even more (although i can respect the way the AFL does their thing, i jsut hate them coz theyre all &^@#$)

Back to dummy half runs if anyone noticed that once or twice a game hodges would take a run from dummy half then past inside to knik which would every now and then result in a linebreak, imagine if knik did what hodges did and james robert did what knik did, tries tries everywhere imo

He attracted defenders. Unfortunately, half the time he didn't have any decent support.

And he would usually be too slow in playing the ball.

I didn't mind him running from dummy half so much, he just had a tendency to do it too often, at times I agree lack of support didn't help but there were times when clearly the ball needed to be spread or he would play the ball afterwards too slow and we would lose momentum from it. No one can accuse Hodges of lack of commitment but the time had come and I'm just thankful he did it after 2015 then a year too late.

The rule change was that once a contract was signed a player could reneg up to ten days, after that the club could announce it. We've got him.

Conspiracy theorists and Copley lovers can assume and postulate all they want that we will somehow lose Roberts all they want, but I can guarantee there is no way a club like the Broncos announce a signing and parade them around in the jersey etc. unless they are 100% sure he is here to stay.
