James Segeyaro signs with Broncos - Effective Immediately

Just broke the news of seggies signing to A Johns who was walking city streets at lunch time. He was really shocked and after calling him the dark knight he said the broncs needed to make many more changes before they get back on track. I reckon he’d been to a tanning salon.

Slightly worrying signing for mine, fortunately only for the remainder of this year so probably worth the gamble tho considering our lack of hooking depth.

And I just bought Turpin for Supercoach... FFS
Nd I only just learnt you can't reverse ANY trades after first lockout?!
I literally just made the trade then apparently you can't reverse them at all.
Complete bullshit

You’ll only ever do that once. Hard pill to swallow though.

That's a lesson I had to learn in my first year of SC as well, never get young players in before their first price rise, you get 2 games to look at players before their price changes, use them to ensure that the players are actually good for SC and have safe job security.

Very excited by this signing. I think with all that time out of first grade, he will have realised that if he wants to continue to have a career in the NRL moving forward, he will have to fix his attitude. I think that by being given a lifeline he will want to repay Seibold and the club by cutting out all of the off field rubbish and focus on being what this team need. I think that we will see the best of Segeyaro right from the get go.

At one point, he was the best hooker in the game. If we can get him anything close to that again, we will finally be able to fill the massive void in our roster. Suddenly he will give our attack a brand new look. Teams all know that McCullough is virtually no threat out of dummy half, and our attack suffers immensely. If the defence offer Segeyaro the same time, he will make them pay.

Poor Jakob. Gets to add at least one game to his 2 in about 3(?) seasons

You know what? Credit has to go to Seibs for this signing actually. He clearly sees we lack speed around the ruck and he's done something about it. I applaud him and respect him for this. Segeyaro might not be the answer we all are hoping for but the point is Seibs and the coaching staff can see what we need and he's signed up an experienced 9 who has speed and energy who can hopefully create something for us around the ruck etc. Not sure how his defense goes but all I know is he has speed and is elusive with great acceleration.

Well done Seibold.
Were we looking at him before McC went down? Or out of necessity I wonder.

Pros: Has been playing 80 minutes most weeks for Newtown (7 games)
Cons: Only has 2 tries, 1 try assists, 3 line-break assists & 3 forced drop outs this season, is also only average 30 running metres per game.

The attacking stats are an obvious improvement on Macca, but the running metres are a concern, for reference Macca is running close to 40 metres per game this year, I'm hoping that's due to the system Segeyaro is playing in more so than him losing his speed and footwork..

I've always thought Segeyaro has been better as an impact hooker coming on against tiring forwards.

I hope that's how we use him.

Either way, we need a new hooker and this is the first step in the right direction. We are taking action. Not sure how many years Segeyaro will play for us but I'm sure if he kills it this season, we'll grant him another year or two.

I'm keen to see how Segeyaro shows everyone that this is what Broncos have been missing for over a decade.

Some speed and creativity out of dummy half

I like the bloke but I'll reserve judgment until he gets a few games under his belt. Jeez I feel sorry for Turpin though, would probably have expected to be starting for the next few weeks but after tonight it's a bit up in the air now.
It's not a charity team for lost causes we're running. If Turpin is knocking the door down to play NRL the spots his. He's not been though and bringing in competition means only the strongest will get the gig.

My only issue is why clubs were reluctant to sign him.

Perhaps it's just something as simple as the deal being offered, but I've heard stories about him. Stories that show why clubs would have been reluctant to sign him.

Wow, this came out of nowhere. What a signing. A perfect foil for McC as a bench utility.

What stories?
