Rising NRL star Josh Dugan kept his weekend arrest for driving offences from his club Canberra until after playing in the Raiders' Monday night clash with the Bulldogs.

Dugan, 20, was arrested on Sunday night for negligent driving and driving while suspended.

The next night he made his return from a knee injury in the Raiders' 18-10 loss to Canterbury at Canberra Stadium.

The promising fullback only told the Raiders of the charges on Tuesday.

What a silly boy.

Fark I can't stand Dugan, gun player but listening to a Raiders game on Foxsports is torture. All they do is spurt all over DUGAN!! DUGAN!!! He looks like a criminal and he is playing the part well. He and Carney will do wonders together at the Roosters.

Haha, have you heard him get interviewed? He seems a bit slow, ay.

He should have kept the head gear IMO. He must have been hanging around the wrong blokes over the summer break! He came back with a stupid looking hair cut, Tatts everywhere and a piss poor attitude! [icon_thumbs_do

Who cares when he told them or if he told them at all?

If I get charged with a driving offense then I don't have to tell my employer - unless it will impact on my ability to do my job (which it won') - why should a footballer be any different?

Because he's a role model and all that crap... and like.. he's in the public's eyes.. and all that shit....

Really I don't give a rats. He's a dickhead, but he shouldn't be in trouble at work.

Big deal. I know, not the first time I've taken this line before but I don't believe their private lives need to be aired for all to see and I don't think it's a big deal that he copped this fine.

Sure he shouldn't have but he's one of the 1000's that do it daily and might I say, don't get caught for it. I certainly don't think Canberra should take any action against him, that would be stupid and unfair. However he is an idiot for driving while he is disqualified but his punishment should stop, he's already copped what he deserves.

I'm on 1 point and I am super careful when I drive to not break any rules and I certainly wouldn't drive if I was suspended, however I can see how hard it would be catching a 5am bus for early morning training in the freezing whether down there.

As for not telling Canberra till Monday [icon_shru Wow, so he told them a day later than they would have liked. I wouldn't tell my employer at all.

He's in line for a 6 figure contract. He can afford taxi fares!

5am for training? WTF!!??? Footballers don't train super early in the morning. And also Canberra is not that big of a place - one of his team-mates could pick him up on the way.

I've read lots of stories about footballers having to get up 5-6am for training, thought it might be the norm for it to happen every now and then, I have no idea what different training routines different club haves though.

O hai Huge...

Well everyone on here certainly seems lax about it.

So it's cool to drive whilst suspended is it guys?

So if someone who was driving suspended crashed into a car carrying your family, other than being distraught, wouldn't you be seething that this person was on the road?

Driving whilst your licence is suspended is a serious offence, and I'm surprised you guys don't really seem to care.

He's definitely a dick head. However if this wasn't Josh Dugan and was some no name reserve grade player this wouldn't even be news.

But it is Josh Dugan and it is news.

If it wasn't Josh Dugan, I'd still have the same opinion anyway. Driving whilst suspended is an idiotic thing to do.

I guess I can understand Dugan's actions. It's a bloody stupid thing to do, but sometimes there's no alternative.

I know at least two people right now that are driving on a suspended license. The only reason they do it is so they can get to work, and keep their job.

Obviously I cannot condone Dugan's actions, but I understand. Shit happens.
