Well everyone on here certainly seems lax about it.

So it's cool to drive whilst suspended is it guys?

So if someone who was driving suspended crashed into a car carrying your family, other than being distraught, wouldn't you be seething that this person was on the road?

Driving whilst your licence is suspended is a serious offence, and I'm surprised you guys don't really seem to care.
He's definitely a dick head. However if this wasn't Josh Dugan and was some no name reserve grade player this wouldn't even be news.

But it is Josh Dugan and it is news.

If it wasn't Josh Dugan, I'd still have the same opinion anyway. Driving whilst suspended is an idiotic thing to do.
Yes it is but it's not on my list of "really bad things a person can do".

5am for training? WTF!!??? Footballers don't train super early in the morning. And also Canberra is not that big of a place - one of his team-mates could pick him up on the way.

It would take 15 - 20mins at that time of day to cover most of the ACT.

Todd Carney was involved in a police pursuit which is a little more serious

I heard Browny was the one who pulled PIT manoeuvre on Carney.

No, but he did ask for a lift once. I just asked him "Havent you been in the back Police car enough"?

I can completely understand why he didn't tell the raiders until Tuesday - I'm sure he didn't want to disrupt the entire team the day of a game.

Why would telling the football manager require telling the whole team? Surely he could've told them and asked to keep it quiet to limit disruption to the rest of the team until after the game.

Not directed at you Emma, but I love the usual shit about how it's nothing to do with the employer. In my case, for example, I require a security clearance with the ADF to do my job. If I am charged with something like that, and convicted, and don't disclose it to my employer (as ADF sponsor) and the ADF itself, I lose my security clearance and potentially could be charged with other offences for making a false declaration and withholding information.

As has been discussed on so many occasions, professional sports teams have codes of conduct for their players, and clauses in sponsorship agreements talking about player behaviour and portraying a positive public image.

Therefore incidents like this are the business of the club.

My opinion? Driving offences are serious, but other than drink driving and high end speeding I don't see any need for players/coaches to be excessively disciplined by their club. However I still maintain it should be a mandatory suspension period for players/coaches who are caught drink driving or speeding excessively (eg 30kph over the limit).

In all honesty though, how often is it that these things stay quiet? And let's face it, he doesn't come across as the sharpest knife in the drawer, he probably didn't think to do that!

True, though I thought managers were involved with everything. I get the impression players ring their manager whenever they have a legal issue, their coach tells them they're bad or they have a case of the squirts...you'd think his manager would suggest calling the club to be open about the situation to minimise risk of further punishment.

Or else, yes, he really is that dumb and told nobody.

He's as bogan as they get. I bet he says lad a lot and wears those nike hats, as seen below.
