Re: Justin Hodges on report

NRL Judiciary - NRL.com

So he's got 20% on top of the base too? Or the previous offence base (75)?

If the player enters an early plea to the offence and accepts the grading, the player is entitled to a reduction of 25 per cent of the base penalty and also a similar reduction in any increases due to other previous offences. A player can enter an early plea up until midday on the day following the charge.

Further, if the player has been previously convicted of an offence other than the same offence in the two-year period immediately preceding the incident, the player is liable to an increase equivalent to 20 per cent of the base penalty for each previous offence. For the offence of a Careless High Tackle Grade 1, players only carry this loading for a 12-month period.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

It depends on what Nashy meant. If he HAD 56 points, he should be fine. If he's on 56 points, then we may have seen the last of him.

9 seem convinced that he's stuffed, so we'll see.

He HAD 56. You are right.

But he will be charge for a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw of 125 points. And he gets 20% on top. I'm not sure on the wording above. 20% on this charge or the last charge?

Either way, I don't think it matters. He's stuffed if I'm reading this right.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

So Hodges will have exactly 100 points with the early guilty plea (94 + 6)?

Edit: NVM.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Will be heart breaking if he gets suspended

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Yeah, tearing my posts down.

Sorry folks, my interest in judicial matters are clearly in-line with the professionals.

Hodgo will have to plead his case.

He's got a case, but I don't know how successful it will be.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Get shine lawyers and Erin brokovich involed.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Relax boys, he'll probably just get fined heavily

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Doesn't sound good. They did rub Isaac Luke out last year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the same treatment.

I don't even recall the incident in question from watching live. Do we have a case in his defence?

Yup. Use the Josh Reynolds defence and put 100% of the blame on the other player in the tackle. And seriously, all they would have to do is show the Reynolds lifting tackle on Tate and ask whether Hodgo's situation was worse or better.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Would be an absolute joke if he got suspended. There was no malice, no intent. No hand between the legs. He was basically just trying to get Guerra's legs out from underneath him, and the timing was off because Guerra folded over forwards and Hunt came over the top.

If his claim that Guerra pushed upwards with his legs is proven to be true, then he'll play

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Robinson just told his presser that he hopes Hodgeo plays

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Some good news then, if the momentum of the tackle can be attributed to other parties.

I think we'd be just fine without him, but he deserves to be there. If he could get that number 100 that'd be perfect.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Luckily the tackle was on Guerra and not an arsehole like Mitchell Piss. Guerra will have no problem confirming what replays clearly show - that he tipped himself over with a half pike after a strong running jump.
