Justin Hodges Cleared to Play

Re: Justin Hodges on report

a) F**k McCallum. The judiciary is a lottery/joke and he has played his part in that

b) Just present a "compelling" case and get him off ffs

Re: Justin Hodges on report

That's how we got our points back after the Parker on the field ****up years ago.

Yes that is right, if they have to go that far it is going to be a busy week. If the judiciary is sitting Tuesday night, I guess they would not want the appeal any later than Thursday so they have some certainty. They will be in Sydney on Thursday anyway for the GF breakfast.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

McCallum obviously has never heard of mitigating factors. Let's ignore the evidence that Hunt and Guerra played a part in it with Guerra openly admitting to placing himself in a dangerous position. Farcical at best, obviously the fact that NSW has no horse in the race has blown their tiny little minds

Re: Justin Hodges on report

McCallum comes off as a doddering senile old fool who has a relevance problem. Come to think of it, much like his refereeing days...

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Why TF is this bloke commenting for anyway. This is where the NRL let the media overstep IMO, having various so called experts giving opinions, dismissing the evidence of the "victim" because he plays in the same rep side etc etc. If they want the judiciary to be as law like as possible then no media should be able to debate the matter in such detail until after the hearing.

The judiciary members should not be put under media pressure to make a decision one way or the other.

What a joke his opinion is anyway, everyone can see Guerra jumped but he dismisses this like it had no bearing on the tackle. No wonder things fucked up so much under his watch.

"Not guilty"

Right to get pumped by Manly in the Preliminary.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Or this to get Jake Treboyvic off

However, Nick Ghabar, acting for Manly said there was no rule against lifting a players' legs in the NRL and Trbojevic was only guilty of making a "very good tackle"."The tackle was a fair one that you see from every kick-chase in the NRL," Ghabar said.
"It was legitimate, it disturbed player Nightingale's balance and had he not turned in the tackle he would have landed on his back.
"He was also managed in the tackle in a careful position by player Trbojevic."
The panel took less than three minutes to throw the case out.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

I'm confident he'll get off.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

The media needs this drama to keep the Sydney public interested

Re: Justin Hodges on report

McCallum can eat a fucking giant dick and choke on it.

I've lost count of the amount of players whom got off at the judiciary for less, including for lifting and throw tackles worse than that!

Rubbing out a legend of the game of his retiring game in a Grand Final for that tackle is fucking criminal.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Firstly, kudos to Guerra for being honest and admitting to taking a dive.

Secondly, how the **** does picking up a leg constitute a dangerous throw?

Yes it's a penalty but it's hardly a lift that puts the player in a position where his head/neck is likely to hit the ground first.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

By rights, he should be able to challenge and win.

Didn't have a hand between the legs, and didn't engage a lifting motion at all.

Primary impetus was Guerra hopping up into it, as he's admitted, with some contribution from Hunt exerting pressure on his upper body. At no point does Hodges provide any momentum to the direction of Guerra.

Joke if he doesn't get acquitted.

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Also, his legs don't go in the air... His heads nearly on the ground when his right foot is still planted!!! If Hodgo goes for this it will be an absolute crime

Re: Justin Hodges on report

Probably bullshit like all of his other rumours, but the Lurker is adamant that Hodges will get off:

JUSTIN Hodges WILL get off his dangerous tackle charge and get to play in Sunday’s grand final for the Broncos.

That’s the mail I’m getting from a senior NRL official very close to the case that will dominate headlines for the next 48 hours.

You can never be certain of anything when you roll the dice at the judiciary - but my inside man says Hodges’ chances are very good.

“He had to be charged but the tackle was ‘borderline’ and that works in his favour,” the insider says.

“It wasn’t malicious or deliberately dangerous and I think the panel will look on it favourably and let him off.”

With so much at stake and the game shaping as the finale to Hodges’ glittering career, the Broncos will fight the charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night.

Most believe Hodges deserves to end his career on a good note - missing the grand final because of one slightly mis-timed tackle would be a bitter pill to swallow for the veteran centre.
