Kangaroos train-on squad

Matt Gillett, Corey Parker, Ben Hannant, Sam Thaiday, Brett Morris, Jarryd Hayne, David Shillington, Josh Papalii, Jarrod Crocker, Josh McCrone, Robbie Farah, David Taylor, Ryan James, Kevin Gordon, Aidan Sezer, Albert Kelly, Greg Bird, Nate Myles

No McGuire? No Campese? No Milford?

McCrone is the worst of the Raiders halves and he makes it in over Milford and Campese ... WTF

Surely if Dave Taylor and Ryan James make the Squad the McGuire has to be a shoe-in ... WTF

but then Tim Sheens is the coach, so what do we expect

I'm absolutely amazed that McGuire didn't get into the team, he has outperformed half the selected forwards this year, including both Hannant and Thaiday.
Ditto for Milford and Campo.

Is it just me, or has the entire game been against the Broncos this year? :glare: Refs, bounces of the balls, luck, selectors...it's almost as if Milford isn't picked because he's coming up here next year. But that would be cray cray, right?

Its funny because the two past Aussie coaches have both been about ten decades past being relevant.

Stuart is ridiculously overrated and the Tigers won a premiership despite Tim Sheens as opposed to because of him.

On what planet is Hannant deserving to be in this squad? Especially ahead of McGuire. I really couldn't give a stuff about International League. I hope we win but who cares.

Yes, well, call me Captain Cray Cray because I've had that feeling all year.

Anyone else hope that Thaiday misses out on the top 25 squad, so has to really look hard at his own performances? Like, maybe, he hasn't performed well with the responsibility of being captain on his shoulders? Because the only one who can rub out the (c) after Thaiday's name is himself, if he feels its in his and the teams best interest.

To anyone complaining about any of the selections considering most of the Kangaroo team is about to take part in Finals footy who else would they pick?. I can't disagree to much with that side except I think McGuire and Milford should get some recognition.

This batch is supposed to make up the PM XIII isn't it?

1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Brett Morris
3. Jarrod Croker
4. Matt Gillett
5. Kevin Gordon
6. Aiden Sezer
7. Albert Kelly
8. David Shillington
9. Robbie Farah
10. Nate Myles
11. Greg Bird
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Corey Parker

14. Josh McCrone
15. Ben Hannant
16. David Taylor
17. Josh Papalii

18. Ryan James

Is what I suppose the squad would look like...there is a real centre shortage plaguing the Australians right now. No Hodges, Idris, Ferguson or even Lawrence & Wighton.

McCrone is just a dud pick but I think he will have got in over Campese because Campo is looking to play for Italy this year.

contiinuing the trend of complaining about various selections: I don't understand the pick of Croker, he is an average centre in my opinion. If it weren't for injuries and suspensions to Ferguson, Lee and Wighton this year i don't think he would have even been playing centre for Canberra by the end of this year.

I don't mind Croker. He still needs to fine tune certain aspects of his game, especially his on-line defence but he's a competitor who has a knack of scoring tries.

I'd have him before Lee and Wighton at this stage. Lee is an unknown quantity in defence and seems great at claiming cross-field kicks and Wighton is still learning.

he looks far too one-dimensional in attack. he seems incapable of cutting back on the inside, which is a pretty big deal for a centre and he doesn't ever really pass to his winger. He may have a decent try scoring rate but in attack his only good move is to go around them on the outside.

I'll have to check it out, I'll admit I've never analysed his game to notice any of those flaws you pointed out.

Croker is a good NRL level back to have at your club, but he's not quite rep worthy.

Yeah but I've got nothing against him making a squad like this, especially in the predicament we're in.

it would be cool to see Hayne considered as a centre in this train-on squad. With Hodges down I actually dread the idea of Josh Morris or Chris Lawrence or someone else playing in the centres for Australia this year. Sheens should bring a kid like Tedesco in at fullback and give Hayne a chance to show what he has got as a centre.
