Karmichael's Shot On Anasta.

Although I don't agree that it was worthy of a suspension, I will look at the positives. We will hopefully get the chance to see Kemp or Davies get a shot at fullback. Although knowing Bennett he will probably shift Boyd to fullback and put Frawley on the wing or something

I just think its ridiculous that he has been charged over the tackle. The whole point of suspending players is to deter them from committing similar acts in the future. There was nothing wrong with the shot. The only thing that went wrong was the ball player falling into the tackle and being hit in the head, which was totally out of the tackler's control. They should either ban shoulder charges or stop punishing players when events out of their control result in the ball-carrier being injured through no fault of the defensive player. It's a joke.

What if K was standing in front of Braith with his arms open, Braith still would have slipped and his nose would still have hit K in the bicep area and his nose still would have been broken. [icon_shru

Confirmed on the news that Brisbane will fight.

TBH, I had expected getting a harsher charge from the NRL, so I'm very confident of his chances of escaping this one.

I'm not confident that he will be free to play... especially given the Broncos record fighting judiciary charges (0 wins for 10 years (since the NRL began))

Orsm.

So he gets a downgrade, gets carry over points and then next time he burps, he gets a week, more than likely during Origin or a final. [eusa_eh

And it's only week two, NRL. [icon_shru

Bfoord I thought we had actually won the last downgrade we appealed, can't remember who but no doubt Coxy or Matt will remember.

No surprise that he got the week, and while I don't agree with it the problem with going for the shoulder charge is always that if things go wrong you will get yourself in trouble.

I believe if they lose it is still one week so may as well have a go......good luck K [icon_pray.

I'm a bit worried about this quote from Cullen:

“Karmichael never set himself for a shoulder charge but he had to brace himself for the impact when Anasta fell into him,†said Cullen.

Not the best choice of words there from Bruno I think. Is he trying to get him suspended or something?

I do remember them changing our penalty for having 14 men on the feild during a wests tigers game a couple of years ago for 2 comp points to a 75k fine but i certainly don't recall a player getting downgraded.

Does anyone listen to Bruno anymore anyway? The man dribbles a lot.

lol, how about this quote from him then?

“(Roosters officials) Ricky Stuart and Brian Canavan have said the same thing. There's no complains from the Roosters camp at all because they know it was an accident.â€Â

I think Bruno needs to attend a "Coping with dementia" class with Wayne

You got a source for that quote?

I think it's good that it has been referred. It means that it will be looked at properly. Double handling seems stupid really.

Why is it: On Report > Monday Charging > Wednesday Hearing

Why not just "You're on report, see you on Wednesday night. IMO that would make sure everything is judged fairly, and in accordance with any precedents set in the past for similar occurrences.

Because judiciary hearings would go on for 12 hours. There are usually 1 or 2 reports in every game, and less than half of them incur charges. Some of them are very straightforward careless high tackle charges etc which the player can just plead guilty to and we're done with it without wasting so much time.

Referees are making reports based on their realtime view of it, and maybe a replay from the video referee. Not enough to judge whether something is really serious enough to charge.

Frank what the hell are you on???

At first i was dissapointed with his carry on aswell, but as Rock said he thought he put on a good shot, he didn't realise that Anasta had got an injury out of it, when he did he went to see that he was alright and stuff.

You want a cocked elbow check out Ross's hit or Grahams (one of those 2 were pretty bad). There wasn't intent to try and knock Anasta's block off or break his nose or cause any injury, he went for a hit that would knock him off his and maybe force the ball out.
It's all been said before Frank, if Anasta didn't slip over it would of been the perfect shot right on his chest.

And the fact that Anasta is willing to speak out for Hunt also show's that there was nothing wrong with the tackle, the Roosters have said that aswell. Hell i don't no if to many fella's with Broken nose's that bled for 2 hours would be willing to support a hit that was illegal.

Don't know why, but going by that post I think its safe to assume that Frank has some sort of long burning issue with Hunt that needs resolving.

Perhaps he was a big Motu Tony fan? [icon_shru
