Kayo v Foxtel Now

I’ve been a long term Foxtel subscriber (just the basic package to get sport) but have been eying Kayo for a while.
Have a couple questions for those who have Kayo.. firstly, I gather that you download an app, how do you then play / stream through your television?
secondly, how reliable is the service? I used to see quite a bit of whinging on twitter from folks about Kayo not working or dropping out etc.
thanks 🙏

I use their website on my computer, and an Android TV box on my TV. If you have Android TV, and Android TV box, or a Chromecast, you can get it running through an app.

What TV do you have?

I think it only officially supports 2017 and later Samsung TVs so that's a no go. Chromecast is the budget way to do it. Google TV is the best way to do it.

Thanks Kimlo 👍

Awesome, thanks again for that !
Hey one more question that just came to mind, how do streaming services like Kayo, Stan et al affect your internet in terms of monthly download?

If you've got a fixed broadband/NBN connection, the data allowances are usually well beyond anything you would even need to consider worrying about.

Most plans are unlimited nowadays so no impact

If you're on a data plan then it's basically 1GB per hr... so if you're planning to do a lot of streaming then unlimited is a must have.

Say you were watching 8 games of footy each weekend on Kayo, it would be about 16GB per week... or ~64GB per month or so.
