I have my doubts that Yow Yeh could have scored the try Kemp did last night.

Get your hand off it son.
Yow Yeh would've score 4 tries last night.
Anyways, Yow Yeh is better in the air and a better defensive player than Kemp will ever be.
Yow Yeh's defense is very underrated.
It's like when the Broncos had Boyd and Micahels on the books.
People like you were climaxing over Michaels because of that run along the touchline.
Boyd was always the better all around player.

1. Norman
2. Wintersin
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Yow Yeh

Kemp will be backup

I think I know why you pick Yow Yeh over Kemp to be honest.[/quote:3sr9exlk]

Yow Yeh is just a more compete footballer.
Players like Kemp, Chirs Walker, Bryson Goodwill can all find the tryline, but there is more to a winger these days than just scoring trys.
Give me Boyd, Sing, De Vere, Yow Yeh anyday of the week except for days that end with y.
Supporters like The Rock, Aeetee...all they care about is the flashy play.
You don't win big games with big flashy plays.
Just ask Slater at the last World Cup.
You supporters just dont realise this

Hodges shiets on Folau from such a great height that your bum will get 2 splashes

people have had an agenda against hodges since he came back. when he plays a blinder they go quiet but when he has a lean trot or is out injured they all come out of the woodwork.

In all honestly I have never been a MASSIVE fan of Hodges - before he left us, while he was a the Roosters or since he has come back. Hodges is a good centre, but not irreplacable and I am always on a knife edge when he is playing that he will do something stupid and get penalised over and over; or do something stupid and lose us a game. And I genuinely believe (after what I saw on Friday night) that he MAY have trouble getting back in the team when he recovers from his injury or if he does that he will have to switch sides.

generally.... surely you have stats and figure to back this up :)

Bottom line, Hodges will lose you more games than he will win you.
Haha, I was trying to find stats, but it's hard to find stats for anything but the current season.

I do remember looking at it last year when there was some debate over his position in the Australian team on a different forum, and I think I found he made more metres per game then any of centre.

I'm not sure though, cause I can't find that post at the moment.

edit found the stats:
In 2009:
Inglis 2689 Metres in 22 games (122 per game)
J Morris 1849 metres in 21 games (88 per game)
Jennings 1925 in 19 games (101 per game)
Hodges 2580 metres in 18 games (143 per game)

Obviously how many run metres he makes is not everything, but that's still pretty impressive.

Days that end with why huh..... Yellow cab fan hey.

Anyway... I LOVE FLASHY PLAY..... love it. Looks awesome, gives ya goose bumps and makes the crowd come alive.

And yes you do win games with flashy plays, you not watch the game Friday night?

And your quick to point out that
"but there is more to a winger these days than just scoring tries."

But you fail to tell us in your infinite wisdom what that is.

Would it be stuff like getting in and taking a few hit ups to take pressure of your forwards and give them a breather....Kemp does that.

Would it be providing a good kick chase game so that your team mates can set a defensive line and not be at 6s and 7s or better yet chasing a kick down and tackling the opposing player and taking him into touch...Kemp does both.

Would it be providing a good kick return and making as many meters as possible so that your team can get set quicker for the next attacking play.... Kemp does that

Would it be having an awesome partnership with your inside men who know that when the chip goes over or the flat pass comes they know that your gunna be there to catch it and PRODUCE THE FLASHY PLAY THAT DOES NOT WIN GAMES.

Well guess what, Yow Yeh does all the above as well. As does Kemp, both are awesome players, both are complete footballers.

Still interested in hearing what else wingers do other than

but there is more to a winger these days than just scoring tries

Are you seriously taking the piss or something? Have you got a short memory? What about Kemp's footwork? His step? His ability in the air? Remember that try where he put the boot to ball, kicked it a few times (with little sideline room to move) and he scored the try? What about Kemp's elusiveness? Remember that try he scored against Manly 2 years ago in the baby broncos match? He dead set ran rings around half of them. Remember that try against the Sharks I think it was where he took the ball from dummy half 10 metres out, stepped around 2-3 players, saw the gap (great vision as usual) and went over for a try??? Forgot that too?

How can you say Kemp is not a complete footballer?

And considering I just backed up my whole argument with examples, how about you do the same with Yow Yeh because to be honest, Yow Yeh hasn't shown anything more than what Kemp has shown so far.

Also, there isn't really anything more to a winger than scoring tries - That is their job, to finish off movements. To score tries. They are not there really to "create" a play. Even so, Kemp creates a LOT of his own.

You just like Yow Yeh because he's black.[/quote:2hqqof0y]

So as a winger you're not suppose to tackle or stop tries?
Or defuse attacking raids?
Yow Yeh shiets on Kemp in all these departments from such a great height that your bum will get 2 splashes.
Its quite obvious you have only been watching league for the last few years.

I can't believe people don't rate Kemp, he was robbed of an Australian jersey at the end of 2008 by the Wolfman and is one of the best finishers I have ever seen. His pace and footwork are extreme. He is the man, gotta love watching Kemp sprinting down the sideline. Kemp is one of those players who really really loves the Broncos and you can tell he gives it his all every game.

What game were you watching? He does tacle, at times he saved our ass. I don't udnerstand you're agenda against him, but his work and trust with Lockyer is something very valuble on the field, and when the going gets tough, you can always rely on Kemp. What more do we want? He's a better footballer than Yow Yeh.

Honestly if you are going to try and be funny don't use the same joke twice, it makes you look one dimentional...

And baiting Rocky with the whole you have only been watching league for a few years.... seriously dude how long you been out of nappies yourself.

Due you mean i have to look and quote stats... you go there and post them back here :)

The Rock said:
And to the people who whinge just because he doesn't "hit gaps"...LOLZ. Give me a break!!! He's not that type of centre

Yep. That's called a good centre. A real centre. Hodges is neither. And he's a harmichael on and off the field.

This man speaks the truth.

Yes, I do have an agenda against Hodges. I think he's a poor person. A poor sportsman. An average player.

I would have no sadness at all if he left and we got Tate back.

Found the stats I was looking for:
Inglis 2689 Metres in 22 games (122 per game)
J Morris 1849 metres in 21 games (88 per game)
Jennings 1925 in 19 games (101 per game)

Obviously metres aren't everything, but it is still pretty impressive.
Source was NRL site before they cleared the 09 stuff.

His biggest problem is that he only played 18 games. He will be lucky to play 6 this year.

You know him personally?

Having been involved with the club, yes I can safely say I know more about him personally than a lot of people here.

And how about the other stats that you expect from a centre:

Line breaks
Try assists
Tackle busts
Missed tackles (lack thereof)
