Oh man, now he's insinuating that i said this!!!

Does this guy ever stop?

Prove to me you didn't

That's unpossible!

Perhaps we should get back on topic...

I propose everyone be banned for continued off-topic posts.

edit: beat me to it ning.

By the way, Kemp is the perfect winger. His positional play in defence is great.

what most people forget, which is understandable with all you armchair coaches is that other team double the defence on hodges which frees up the other side. Its not only what hodges does with the ball its what the other team do to combat his attack as well. Every one was going on about jenning last year but when we played the panthers he got owned........ and by who

I don't forget that. I think Hodges is a good centre, but he's not a must have IMO.

On this battle on whos better Kemp or yow yeh Its hard to compare at this stage of yow yeh career to early to tell. He has turned heads now and will be marked a lot more now than last year when he was a nobody. Time will tell and coming off a serious injury he might take a season to find form and feet a again.

If you look at our stats from the first half of last year our left hand side(winters and micheals) in stats shits all over our right but that because teams double up on our right , which creates space every where else

I think right now, Kemp is a better player then Yow Yeh.

But for some reason, I think Yow Yeh has more potential.

i love how quick kempy is its been a while since we had "that" guy who when he got in the clear would not be caught. K seemed slow as dogs balls, winter and yow yeh were up there but i dont recall too many length of field tries (puts on flame suit im sure there was a couple) but kempy seems to be running the length in attack or defence every game i can remember.

i was so stoked at his first real defensive play he got to ty williams so quick and the roar at the stadium was worth the admission price!

Back on the tigerwoods issue, the jerk should be banned for life anyway. He's been banned permanently for crap numerous times before and shouldn't be allowed back. Simple.

As for Hodges, he's a chump who can play a bit.
Yow Yeh: great young player with potential, but he'll struggle to make the team when he's fit given the form of Kemp and Winterstein (if it continues).
Kemp: I love people saying "he's not that good, he's just fast and finishes moves off"...that's a bad thing? LOLZ, football fail. You need players who do their job as much as the creative flashy types who make something out of nothing (which, IMO, Kemp is capable of at times too). And as ethos said, defensively he positions himself beautifully, is safe under the high ball, safe with the ball on the ground, and reads the play well.

A perfect first grade winger IMO.

Exactly. You can't get more of a classic winger than Kemp really. Fast, good on his feet and knows how to find the line. What more could you ask for?

He could be 6 inches taller...but I don't think there's much he can do about that :P

I would find room for Kemp, Winterstein and Yow Yeh. Maybe Yow Yeh in the centres in place of Beale.

He could play in platform boots.

And there is always that leg lengthening operation that logan pollie Hajinal Ban had.

I thought Beale was great. I wouldn't drop him for Yow Yeh.
Leave Jharal on the sidelines until one of the other backs gets an injury. That way we won't have to resort to Steve Michaels.

Don't get me wrong I was not bagging Beale but I have seen enough from Yow Yeh to warrant his inclusion. He's something special imo.

Winterstein has played a lot of centres in his younger days.

I'm not sold on Beale. He looked good in patches on Friday night and should certainly retain his spot until Yow Yeh or Hodges get back. But if Yow Yeh comes back and is in red hot form, if we had to do anything I'd move Winterstein to centres and play Yow Yeh on the wing.

But then what do you do when Hodges is back? Winterstein deserves to be in the 13.

Agree on moving Winter to the centers once Yow Yeh is back (and if he hits form). Beale looks promising, but a year of mixed first grade and QCup can't hurt him.

As for Hodges, well we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Ah well, fact is with Hodges that one out of Winterstein, Norman, Kemp and Yow Yeh will be out of the side. Sad but that's just how it goes.

Whatever my feelings about Hodges, he's still the first guy you'd pick in the outside backs right now.
