I did one of these last year. Interesting to see how he goes this time around.

4. Significant improvement required next season or thanks no thanks for 2024.

5 for me. There were some really good signs throughout the year, also some really poor ones. He needs to understand that he needs better assistants or he will be done next year - perhaps before the year is over.

I have no doubt DD and Ikin will be laying down the law. Next year starts now for Kev, and look, I hope he's up to it. I don't know if he is though.

3. Post Origin, the bubble burst. Whatever goodwill he'd accumulated in the run up is now gone. If the rot continues into the trials, and he hasn't added some serious spine quality, got rid of Haas, and churned his assistant coaches, he's on death row.

But he has time and the club has the cash to turn it around.

Went with 5.

We finished on the ladder basically where I expected us to so it's hard to not give him a pass mark when he met expectations. Naturally disappointed with how the season ended but we were never going to be a threat in the finals anyway.

This team needs to go up another gear early next season or he should be shown the door.

Granted he reached early expectations, but that's only because we set them too low. Then we grew confidence and realized we had enough decent cattle to make the eight. Then somehow the wheels fell off. None of us can figure out why but the most obvious answer is the coach lost the dressing room.

I went with a mid range 4. With the performance in the last 6 games, he can't get a 5 in my view.

We overachieved through the origin period which also set unrealistic expectations. If people are going to criticise and put the blame on him for the last few weeks he also has to take the credit for when we played well.

After R6, we had 10 wins from 12 games including wins against Sharks, Bunnies, Raiders and Parra. I just think its a little too reactionary to judge him using the expectations that were set half way through the season when we were overachieving.

I gave Kevin a 4 because he didn’t succeed in finishing the season the top eight which is what I understand was the pass mark. Therefore he didn’t achieve the pass mark.

Point is this, David stated he would give and surround Kevin with everything and everyone he needed to succeed. So did David in fact fail in doing this or could Kevin not respond. Either way what happens now, do they persevere and continue or try someone else.

I think they will do their review and persevere with Kevin for another 12 months and not much will change including the result at seasons end.

I gave Kev a 4. I think most of us agree that we love Kev as a former great of our club, but as a coach he just does not have nous to motivate a team to strive for a premiership.

Sure he might go further with better assistants, but he's too prone to making stupid decisions and that just won't cut it when you come down to the pointy end of the season.

He did get the credit. He got lionized by everyone, as did Adam Reynolds, Kurt Capewell, Selwyn Cobbo and Kotoni Staggs. Then it all went out the window. Kevvie's really only getting the torch on him after this loss, and it's hardly anything at all compared to what other coaches are copping. We're way ahead of the curve here. As always.

Fair enough. A few of those blokes deserve as much scrutiny as the coach, Staggs in particular.

Selwyn is the only one who was prematurely hyped based on a few sensational runs, which extrapolated into comparisons with former greats. Not his fault. We all forgot how very very green he is.

Kotoni, Kurt and Adam have all demonstrated themselves to be matchwinners. And have earned some ups and downs.

Kotoni, the least of the three. He doesn't deserve the bashing he's getting lately, but the coaching staff need to get to the bottom of why he's been blunted in attack. It's legitimately concerning now, but some of the blame goes to those on his inside, and also that he's having to expend so much energy defending. That's at least partly because our middles, like Payne, are not stopping the ball from spreading.

Kurt must be injured or he's lost motivation. He's been way under-par since Origin.

But Adam is the main concern. His class is unquestionable, but fading. He never really clicked, and we didn't really miss him when Gamble took his position. I wonder how he's feeling today, whether he regrets moving up here?

Doesn't deserve the bashing?

A player of his quality on the money he's on should at least be trying to influence games. I think that comes down to attitude more than opposition tactics or being nullified. He's been a shell of himself since origin 1 and hasn't shown the appetite to dig in.

Plenty of other guilty parties too so agree with the Capewell and Reynolds criticism. I just think A Rey has looked poor whenever our pack has been struggling, especially while Carrigan was out. It's rough to expect any half to dominate games when they're on the back foot unless its one of the elites, like DCE or Hunt. Unfortunately the 2022 A Rey isn't at that level any more.
