An axe and a sword. BrutalHe starts the article saying Steve fell on his sword ...
But later in the same article he says that Kevvie made the tough decision to axe Steve

Well he can't because the ol' tin can and wire is providing my internet access right now, he has to wait his turn.did you want him to use the old tin can and fishing line to relay Kevvie's messages?
why not, helps me get through itDoes Kev need to tell him airline specials during the game?

There's no way Steve was just doing logistics, he was 100% involved with the team in some capacity. You don't sit on the sidelines with a headset if you're not involved with the footy in some capacity.
Thanks and goodbye to both Steve and Terry. Pretty keen to see who we bring in as an assistant coach now.
Why would the guy who handles logistics be sacked, and why does he need a line to Kev mid game?He wasn’t involved with coaching, he did the same role on the bench during Origin. That’s Walsh beside him in that photo- the Well being, education and integrity manager- he sure isn’t a coach.
Cartwright, Ballin and Matterson were in the box. Walters did the headset on the ground to ALF.
We’ll I guess Kev knows there not scared to sack him now if he fails again as shown his brother the door wonder if Billy is next
he wasn't sacked and why the **** wouldn't he have communication with the box whilst on the sideline? Why would the guy who handles logistics be sacked, and why does he need a line to Kev mid game?
There's more to the story.
Someone's gotta relay the messages between the coaches and the on-field staff/players. It's not the kind of job you'd hire a whole extra person to do for 1.5 hours a week. Why would the guy who handles logistics be sacked, and why does he need a line to Kev mid game?

So he failed this year to get into the 8 which is a failureI'm just curious, how did he fail?
We didn't finish in the 8, sure, any other season we would have. Last season teams were in the 8 having lost more than they won.
Isn't that Alfie's job?Someone's gotta relay the messages between the coaches and the on-field staff/players. It's not the kind of job you'd hire a whole extra person to do for 1.5 hours a week.
You'd have to think it's a last chance type thing, we gave you a chance with your staff, now we'll pick you're staff and if you still fail your next.I think its a bit of a worry when people above Kevvie are basically making him get rid of blokes he has hand picked as part of his team. Dont really see that as a big show of faith.

Bit hard for Alfie to wear the headset when he's on the field.Isn't that Alfie's job?
...........- the Well being, education and integrity manager
Well .....in this roll, Boxhead was pretty fucked from what we've seen
Integrity..... Payne, could you use the word in a sentence please....?
Education.... can someone explain to Tesi that he's supposed to catch the football, not run away from it.
Well being ?
FMD....weren't we just so mentally prepared to finish the season strong and take on the finals.
We were a fucken rabble.....
So all things being equal, Steve W deserved to be canned.
