THE EX Kevin Walters

Yeah the onslaught of the Sydney media means he's enemy number 1 when he returns... he's basically seen as Lodge 2.0 to the Sydney public and will be copping boos every time he touches it... all because he did his drugs in Qld instead of Sydney.

The Sydney circle jerk still just assume he was completely off his face when he decided to jump behind the wheel... except he wasn't charged with those kinds of offences, but that gets ignored or misreported down south for clicks.

Agree with your whole post. One of the most...disappointing things for me has been Kemp's reaction to it all tbh. He always seemed to be so even with everyone but because he's copped flack in the past for his Broncos bias, he seems to think he has to go extra hard. He thought and expected that Mam would miss a season. A fucking season when you've got the JAC and Trindall situations. He may have corrected it since in one of his podcasts and I missed it, I find them more difficult to listen to these days tbh. The way they talk about the situation is as if Ezra had a crack pipe in his mouth when he had the accident.

Point being I guess, this is the kind of narrative that is being pushed in Sydney...they absolutely need to get ahead of it

Yep the whole thing about expecting a year long suspension is craziness when 90% of the comp would be on coke and likely driven within the same timeframe as Mam, and were just lucky they didn't get a roadside at the same time... JAC and Trindall did exactly that and there's been **** all talk about it... Trindall even doubled down and was almost three times over on alcohol to go with it, but nah Ezra should be out for a year and blasted out of stadiums as if he's been found guilty of DV or sexual assault... which other players still in the league have been done for.

Even the shit about 'cocktail of drugs' from the Judge is bullshit, because the cocktail was anti-inflammatory and paracetamol given to him at the hospital... but Sydney have jumped on it as part of the circle jerk.

Broncos have been sitting on it for probably too long at this point and need to get an exclusive interview out there just so the whole situation is made clear as day and put out in the public... the legal shit is done and the 'integrity' unit shit is done... the broncos now need to rebuild him, because they've committed to him for the next 5 seasons.

Yes, I was surprised by Kemp as well. Part of the issue was the cops took so long to come back with the second test results the narrative of him being a drug crazed road menace got embedded as canon. The question you have to ask is: how long should you wait to drive after smoking weed? Because it would've yielded the same charge a couple of weeks later.

He's just appeasing to his crybaby fanbase so he doesn't appear biased. He is always constantly defending himself so he's just going all in on this due to how fired up people are over it. The shit I've seen, (mostly racist) on all forms of social media regarding mam is disgusting. This includes the nrl reddit which is heavily curated making it even more fucked up. If you go against the grain you get shit on.

Everywhere I look it's like a rerun of Reefer Madness. It's gone beyond scolding into persecution and sanctimonious wankery now. The racist twist on it is it's largely related to the perception (based on his fashion sense) that he got "uppity" when the money started rolling in.

Whenever I've pointed out his crimes are fairly routine traffic offences (though obviously illegal) that aren't uncommon for someone of his age, he hasn't been convicted of being intoxicated behind the wheel and the accident (as far as we're aware) is unrelated to the actual crimes committed, I get howled down/downvoted and called names.

Mine is a VERY unpopular opinion, but of course it's fact, and it explains the penalties he received.

But this is what so-called fans do and the media ended up playing to it. It started out wait-and-see and then they too went along for the ride.

In my (unpopular) opinion, the penalty from the NRL is a massive overreaction based on public hysteria rather than the crime, but whatever, he's a child who needed to grow up, and hopefully this will be his making.

You are not Robinson Crusoe there bro .

That's good to hear. If you say what I said on the echo chamber of shit that is Reddit you'd be buried in downvotes.

A buddy of mine works outdoor concerts .
A few years back he did a show with a bunch of 90s bands . The audience were gen X gen Y . He told me when the concert was finished and the crowd left . The ground was littered in blister packs from prescription drugs .

Good thing they aren`t on the road side tests or there would be a lot of solid citizen managers and business owners who would all lose their licences .

People taking opioid meds and or anti depressants are every where on the roads .

It is time we move on from Kevvie the Coach and go back to remembering him as the Club Legend he is.
I thought he was professional with his analysis yesterday..
I have always liked Kevvie's sense of humor.
He was talking about letting players express themselves yesterday. I wondered if he became Uncle Kevvie rather than coach Kev .
I saw an interview with Steve Edge talking about Jack Gibson . Edge got a bit familiar one day in preseason.. Called him Gibbo . Jack told him in front of the playing group you can call me coach or Mr Gibson or you will looking for a new club . Edge went on to Captain the Eels to a cpl of premierships .

The first thing international bands want when they land in the country is to get hooked up. That's the promoter's job.

I'm assuming he's just trying to flog his new podcast and doing the Fox Sports special by quoting his own show as headlines
His big idea is that the internal review shouldn't have been anonymous: putting the players at odds with the coach, who they all thought would continue into the next season. You can imagine how that might've panned out.

He's a fucking clown.

He just doesn't want it anonymous because he wants the inside goss on who said what so he can report on it, and at this stage he can't get that info.

If he wants to know outcomes of the survey then I'm sure Kevvie can tell him, because they would've been presented to him by DD and co... and he's got Kevvie sitting next to him twice a week for the next 6 months.

Lol every management review across all forms of employment are anonymous. Dobbo would even complete them anonymously for Southern Cringe Austereo. Get a grip you complete flop. At this point I can't tell if these are tears or Kevvy's population potion dripping from his face.

What an embarrassment

Exactly it allows honest opinions without fear of retaliation. Dobbo knows this as you point out it is the norm for reviews. At the end of the day the decision is done and old news. What matters now is what happens next.
