THE Broncos have received a blow this morning with front rower Korbin Sims ruled out for the rest of the season.
Sims suffered an arm injury last night that Broncos’ medical officials had hoped was just a deep muscle bruise.
However scans this morning revealed a fracture in the ulna bone on the outside of his right forearm.
Sims will undergo surgery today that will include a plate being applied to the bone to stabilise the fracture.
“Unfortunately it is not good news on Korbin and the scans have found a fracture,” said Broncos’ High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans this morning.
“He will be operated on today and with the six-week recovery required for this injury, which effectively rules him out for the rest of the season.”
The Broncos will receive some reinforcements in the front row position for Thursday’s final-round game against the Cowboys in Townsville.
Joe Ofahengaue returns from a three-week suspension, while Tevita Pangai junior should also be right to go after missing last night’s loss to the Eels with a hamstring problem.
