OFFICIAL Kurt Capewell signs with the Broncos from 2022

That he started

He was in a tough situation, he was paid by Fox to give his opinion while at the same time about to start a gig at a new club where his role was all about enforcing his opinions into actions

I also doubt he had much to do with it other than giving Capewell some further reason to join a club that is clearly on the turn around. This was being rumoured as a signing for us in the pre-season

Ok Pete you are wonderful journalist, just stop reporting on our kids coming through.

Great news about Capewell, we are filling holes in this squad really well. If we can get a hooker and a tactician assistant coach, I feel we are set for a pretty dramatic rise next season. Anything further from here aside from a hooker is a bonus.

I still expect we will get Su’A too.
Badel really only covers the senior comp, and specifically the Broncos. Andrew Dawson's your man.

Happy to hear that he has a top character. The Broncs certainly need more of that.

Alex Glenn:

“It’s not an indication that I am retiring. Apart from myself, we don’t have too much experience in the backrow position and it’s something that’s a bit of a minefield position in our team. It’s just a great signing."

“I’m grateful that our club has locked in a star for that position and it’s not about where I stand, whether I retire or play on for one more year."

Titanic collide on iceberg ship sea

Glenn: blue skies, smiling at me

“I still haven’t made my decision yet and I’m just eager for him to come to our club. Over the next month or so I will sit down with the missus and my manager to have some honest conversations because I don’t want to be a selfish player who plays one year too long.”

Ikin:

“Kurt has talent, footy smarts, experience and a strong work ethic, all attributes we want here at the Broncos. In the past 12 months, he has played in an NRL Grand Final and a winning Queensland State of Origin team – that experience will be invaluable for our playing group."

“We have some great emerging talent here at the club who are learning to be true rugby league professionals, and I think Kurt will be a perfect addition to the squad in that respect.”

It reads like Glenn just assumes the club wants him to extend and that it’s his decision. He’s going to speak to his manager and missus about his future, no comments about what the club may want.

The prec-iceberg image is at least more than a century plus 12 months out of date.

May I humbly suggest (@Foordy still thinks a genius like Paul White can stil sail this):

He also is blissfully unaware he's already went a year too long.

I'd still keep Glenn for a year on absolute minimum wage as depth.

Glenn is the ship. We're the iceberg.
Glenn is the old duck who forgot to die with the ship 100 years ago because that would have enhanced her honour.

Played on faaaaarrrrrr too log. Is now a pariah in the Broncos commercial landscape. I own a couple of businesses and commmercially I'd run as far from Alex Glenn as humanly possible.

Whenever Glenn speaks these days it makes me sick. He’s a cliche machine and nearly everything he says is for the likes.

So are we able to sign Kurt because we didn’t sign Fifita to a huge contract?
