Good luck with Commolli on board..............you will need it

Konchesky...well, it's the best we could do with a limited budget. I guess Hodgson also had an eye on the UK quota for the squad and to be fair, he's done ok.

Really??? The best we could have done is kept Insua, he was our leading assists last season if I remember correctly.. yes he had his defensive issues, but Konchesky has fucked up already on numerous occasions and offers nothing going forward.

We got rid of a promising 21 (remember that, only 21) year old left back who had nothing but a bright future ahead of him and would only get better with experience and forked out 5m?? for Konchesky, an aging-never good enough left back who is only going to get worse... So no, I don't think it was the best we could do!

Insua has also already had 2 caps for Argentina at age 21.

What we had.
An extremely promising 21 year old left back with a few defensive liabilities who was unreal at getting forward and had the world at his feet. Value will increase dramatically in market. Aurelio and (as it seems) Agger as backup.

What we have now.
An average 29 year old left back who seems to be struggling far more than Insua has in the past with few defensive liabilities and woeful at getting forward. Only going to get worse, and his value will deminish in the market. Aurelio and (as it seems) Agger as backup.

Konchesky has had 2 caps also for England...... at age 29.

I know which I would want.

Yeah he did a terrible job ... from what I've read he was only behind the signings of Gareth Bale, Tom Huddlestone, Michael Dawson, Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe and Jermaine Jenas. And was invlolved in signing Berbatov (which you made a killing on) & Modric. [icon_razz1

I saw the second half, farking hell Liverpool have gone a long way backwards the amount of misplaced passes this morning was insane! Gerrard did his thing and got some very good opportunist goals but that midfield of yours is awful right now.

Yesssssssssssssss!!!

Holy shite that second half was tough to endure.

Massive relief. What a win.

hey dude I hate to tell you this but........ you're living in the past, and Insua is living off that one goal.

He was rubbish last year, he got skimmed by players with their eyes closed. He did look promising, but he regressed badly.

And I'm not the only one who feels that way, go read the official pool forums, most feel the same way.

Konchesky really isn't as bad as you make him out to be. He's just not young and foreign, which I guess dims his excitment value a bit. But he's still a decent player who's got some ability, and most importantly (which you might have forgotten), he's homegrown and Insua isn't.

I'm not saying he's brilliant, but yes, i'm saying he's better than Insua. Insua will be shipped out in summer and will be replaced anyhow, so no loss. Besides, if he was as promising as you make him out to be, why is he at Galatasary and not a big spainish or Italian club? I knew Fiorentina were interested but they were the ONLY ones of noteworth significance. Are you suggesting a whole bunch of european scouts are wrong and you are right, based primarily off one super goal 2 years ago?

fantastic strike by el nino, he's baaaaaack.
