Dude. Have you been drinking?

Did you just say.

"If they want to win, they should pick Cronk. But they should pick Prince"

Why wouldn't winning be the sole focus in a test? What else are they going out there to do exactly?
I mean if it was actually going to be a tight contest, Australia will blow NZ out of the water anyway regardless of the choice they make. I think Prince is mighty unlucky to miss out on rep selections so much.

I think the kiwis will be quite good this year IMO.
I think they're a good team but with short 1 week preparation Australia is a lot better suited to that.

So you would cheapen the Australian jersey by selecting an out of form Prince to conserve Cronk for Origin? lolz

Huh? I would hardly call selecting a brilliant player like Prince cheapening the jersey.

It is if he's not the best person for the job and you pick him more because you think he's been a bit unlucky when it comes to rep selection

I can agree with what your saying and I see your point but I feel for Prince he's been so good for so long.

Prince is due back in Round 8 so will only have 1 game under his belt before the test.

And the games Prince has played so far this year have been crap.

Yeah but a lot of players have been in similar situations. Eg Minichello probably would have been long-term Aust FB if his career hadn't co-incided with Lockyer at FB. Hunt and Slater - both would have played a lot more rep games if either had been in a different generation of footballers. Kenny would have played a lot more tests if he wasn't playing at the same time as Lewis. There are many more examples. It's just bad luck - great players but with someone a bit better just in front of them.

I also feel for Princey - he has had to overcome a lot in his career. And my couple of personal dealings with him lead me to say he's a really great guy as well as an extremely talented footballer. But if there is someone who is better for the job, then that's just life. I like to say that football is like any other job and it applies here as well. With any job vacancy there are usually at least 2 (or more) candidates who would do an awesome job, but there's only one position available, so the best suited candidate gets it.

Admins - I realise I am not doing the right thing here but I just HAVE TO highlight this.

Hahahaha, that's nearly as embarrassing as saying Thurston's overrated....

what youre not understanding is the 'Right now' part of that quote.

lockyer had been playing horrible when QUEENSLANDER said that, and Cronk and Thurston had been playing brilliantly. there is no doubt that Cronk/Thurston at that stage - hell, and even up until kickoff last night - wouldve been much more formidable going on form.

Lockyer played absolutely superb last night, no doubt about it. but that doesnt change the fact that what QUEENSLANDER said was correct when he said it.

of course i dont expect you to understand. steve michaels could come back and "only" let in 3 tries in a match and youd try and give everyone rubbish about how he didnt let in 5 like we said he would.

What a cop out. Lockyer proved you doubters wrong. Simple fact. Don't try that bullshit type of justification to save your face because it's not gonna work. You doubters doubted him (again) and he responded like the champion he is (again).

The thing is though AP, IMO picking Lockyer even out of form has never made a QLD or Australian side weaker. Time and time again, he has shown why he's one of the best players ever and seems to have an uncanny ability to snap himself out of a form slump when he's surrounded by that kind of quality.

Jeb, I have no problems with what you did there - fair call IMO.

Just all of you don't go re-hashing old arguements to drag it on and on and on again.
