Forgot that part, as does the media it appears
We seldom agree Browny but I think the fine was way over the top. The weeks were probably okay. That said, big fines do hurt and send out a pretty big message and it is the best way to hurt wealthy players. Like you said, it wasn't a huge crime and he hasn't backed away from putting his face in the media to allow the free hits.He got drunk and pretended to hump a dog, not the crime of the century. 6 weeks, 50K and loss of captaincy would be sufficient
took out his two new recruits - one being straight from NYC - as captain of the team, and illustrated acceptable behaviour by his standards and the Roosters as a whole.

Forgot about that, meh yeah it's not good but it's still hardly that bad. At least he's not raping anyone. <_<Forced a kiss on a woman that clearly didn't want it too, but yeah nothing really, I mean they're just bitches right?

I spin it around a bit and imagine a drunken girl of around the same age trying to kiss a guy, any guy famous or not. In my mind he gently pushes her away and no one says a word or is outraged. Perhaps we have become a little unbalanced. Recently I endured, sorry ,listened to a young lady singing a song on the radio with the lyrics 'can't keep my hands to myself' repeated many times. It seemed to be acceptable from a young woman but I'd imagine there would be outrage about the 'message being sent' had it been a guy.
In no way am I condoning MPs actions but just making an observation on the way we as a society react, sometimes with totally disproportionate outrage.
Serious, just what part makes it ridiculous ?§Serious? I'm not going to touch the first part because it is just ridiculous.
As to the song lyrics, she is talking about consensual actions, and there are songs with male singers saying similar stuff. It is outrageous, it isn't anything.
If you guys want a woman's perspective, this is mine.
Ive experienced drunk guys trying to kiss me while partying. It's a non issue if they go in for a pash and you push them away and they go away. It's only an issue if they come back and try again. It appears Mitch was happy to give up the chase after a rebuke. P###ing on a couch is disgusting, he's not 18, he's 26. By 26 your brain is fully developed and you should be able to handle your alcohol enough to not piss your pants. I'm happy with the fine for that reason, also the NRL will know of more indiscretions than me and probably forcing him to give up the booze is the best case scenario for him as an individual and the rest of his team.
MY PROBLEM WITH THE NRL is that they don't tear up contracts immediately upon a conviction of domestic violence. If you are found guilty of domestic violence then you should not be allowed to play elite rugby league. If they take the hard line stance immediately, then young blokes in the future will think twice about bashing their partners. I suppose they will argue that the wives won't report it because they don't want their partners to lose their income, but I don't care. It's not a good look to have Robert Lui or Kirisome Auvaa playing NRL. Yet Mitchell Pearce is the one who is copping it far and wide. Go Figure.
You've come a long way my man... :wink:It's important not to compare the two in this situation. But you're 100% correct, they should not be playing the sport. Or any sport.

The funniest thing I find is when they host women in league round and run out convicted women bashers
Has anyone read the SKD text messages? The way he treated his missus in a lot of those was way worse than anything Pearce did.
