Re: Move over Bon Jovi and Russell. Cronulla have the big na
I am pretty sure our crowd figures were up as well last year. Yes our fans don't turn up when things go bad, because they have been putting up with it for over 20 years. That is no different to every other team though. Roosters 2009 season, they had crowd figure of under 6k or less than A-League game, we have had that a few times back in 2003 or 2004 and that was during our worst period.
The Newcastle fans have no excuse as where else can they go on a game day? Give Broncos 3 years out of the top 8 and a wooden spoon to see how that affects the crowd figures. 1 year of failure will not be a blimp on the Broncos figures, comparing that to 20 years of it.
This is the arrogance of Broncos fans, it is something they have never experienced and that is failure. You are all good at preaching that fans don't turn up.
When you experience it and I am talking a few years, it will test you as a fan. It is something the Broncos and their fans will probably never experience. Because their club is run a lot better than most if not all NRL teams, they have a winning culture and a great brand in an open market in Brisbane.
Have you actually looked at our team and gone thru the juniors, there are still juniors running around in our top 25. Yes we have bought players but it has been no different to other teams, but we still have juniors in the first grade squad and in the top 25.Kaz said:Twiztid said:This is the best team on PAPER we have ever had for over 20 years and we just want them to go out and win. If they don't win, it is another year of failure and you can't put it any more plain than that.
It's the best on paper because you are trying to buy a premiership.
What happened about sticking by your Juniors.
When you are in a coma you don't have a birthday? We have been in the comp 2 years less than our age.Twiztid said:Yes, we are proud of our history, I am proud of it. 20 premierships and 100+ years is something to be proud of.
But it wasn't a continuous 100+ years.
They were out a the comp for awhile, or are you meaning the other grades.
The Rock said:Twizted, Souths fans don't turn up to games when their team isn't going well. History is proof of that.
Unlike Newcastle and Broncos fans. Newcastle fans always turn up, no matter how low they are sitting on the ladder. And we just had out worst season every and we got our best crowds. So I'm pretty confident that if we were to do bad, fans would still rock up to games.
