Graham Napier has set a record with 58-ball knock.

Graham Napier has set a new record score of 16 sixes in an innings for England's Twenty20 Cup.

Essex all-rounder Graham Napier has struck a new Twenty20 world record 16 sixes in an innings on his way to 152 not out as Sussex were thrashed by 128 runs at Chelmsford on Tuesday.

Napier's 58-ball knock, which also featured 10 fours, was a record score for England's domestic Twenty20 Cup.

It was second only to New Zealander Brendon McCullum's unbeaten 158 in all Twenty20 cricket.

The 28-year-old Essex-born Napier's innings helped his side to 242 for three, a target which proved beyond Sussex who were bowled out for 114.

"It was awesome, fantastic," Napier told Sky Sports. "I just started to see the ball better, middled one or two and then got into a rhythm."

I wish I had seen it, that is just crazy [icon_ee

Who wrote that article? Nothing like repeating yourself three times over!

The author decided to remain anonymous, smart move [icon_lol1.

that would have been an innings worth watching

I love 20/20. Love it even more when you can see an innings like that... 16 sixes, my god!

I just hope it doesn't kill one-day cricket. What a shame that'll be. I'm of the opinion that we don't play too much of it and it becomes an overkill. It's a specticle and should be enjoyed every so often.

20/20 is going to be massive. As soon as this Caribbean/ USA venture gets a foothold, it with explode.

Personally, screw the USA market, get a Super14's style southern hemisphere comp going, best of the southern hemi.....20/20 IS cricket!

IMO 20/20 is the only way Cricket can become a real world wide sport. It's fast and exciting and doesn't go for too long. A lot easier for people to get into than other forms of cricket.

Mate, in 15 years, we will struggle to get players available to play for Australia, because the franchises won't want to release them!

As much as I don't want Hammo's comment to be true, I think he could be right. I just hope it's proven wrong but the day we see an Australian B side running onto the field as the National team will be a sad day.

It's all about money!

i hate 20/20.... like has been mentioned earlier its all about the $$$$

It's entertaining but geeze it starts to bore me after watching a few games in a row.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned test match.

I am not fussed on 20/20 to be honest and I am probably one of the most fanatical cricket fans on here....I live and breathe the sport....I love!

20/20 just doesnt do the game any justice, yes it makes money but not much else, it doesnt really improve skills in any of the aspects in my opinion (especially fielding because the ball doesnt go along the ground very often).

I agree that it will explode and probably take over one day cricket and maybe even tests which would be a great shame.

Steve Price set this Record years ago.

Apparently his doesn't count because he used his biceps instead of a bat.

That will never happen!!! Those old codgers at Lords will be up in arms or wake from the dead before they let it happen.

Seriously though, test cricket is not just a sport... it's an art and WAY too many people love & appreciate it too much to let that happen. 20/20 will be big but test cricket will always be the main format of the game. Test matches are where legends are made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing! 16 sixes!! Would have loved to see that!! Love 20/20!!

Lol @ the Price comments.

The author certainly did repeat himself.

Repeating himself is something the author is very good at.

The author said the same thing three times.

Go the author!

Repetitive, a bit like Twenty20 cricket :P
