Paul Green. That is a metoric rise from Qcup to under 20s and straight into the big time. He seems to be in the rught place at the right time a lot and has always pulled the right rein throughout his playing and coaching career.

Yeah, bold move from the Cows to go with a real rookie. He has jumped the right way in everything he's done from the time he was at Easts Bris.
He knocked back a contract with the Roosters and stayed with Easts and J Lang then Lang got the Sharks job and took Green with him.

Cronulla were on the rise and did well in the following 3 years. Then he went to the Cows after Super League on a massive contract even for now ( 3m over 5 years).

The cows let him go but had to pay out the contract ( mostly ). After bouncing around different clubs including the Broncs he dabbled in coaching before taking on the Seagulls job, once again finding a solid team on the rise. He did an excellent job with them coaching them successfully to consecutive premierships.

He's one of those guys who seems to find success, good luck to him , it will be interesting to see what he brings to the Cows.

Granville soon to follow......?

I would if I was him. Their hookers are rubbish, their biggest weakness.
He'll never displace McCullough at the Broncos anyway, especially with the push to get him to play more minutes.

Haven't heard anything like that but it shouldn't be hard to find out

Exactly ......and Green is a big fan of Granville I believe.

If Granville's off contract for 2015 I think it'd be a given Green will chase him. Pretty sure Broncos signed him for 2014 though. And with Wallace gone you'd think he's a sure thing for a spot in the 17.

It's one thing playing limited minutes off the bench (likely less and less as everyone seems to want Macca to play longer minutes), but he'd have the opportunity to actually try to cement a starting spot at the Cowboys.

Didn't the Cowboys just sign the young hooker from the Dragons ?

Be interesting to see what influence a former player will have on the club my knowledge of Green's QLD Cup coaching is nil so i've got no idea what he is like as a coach. Good luck to him never the less.

Yes, but having an opportunity in first grade next year will make it easier for him to push for a spot with the Cowboys in 15.

Maybe they will sign Baptiste? I'd rather lose Granville and keep Kurt anyway.

I'm the other way around, saw more from Granville. Extra spark and more potential XFactor from him.

Cowboys give Green light for coach

He was assistant at the Broncos too.

I wouldn't say metoric- it's pretty standard- what else can you do apart from ISC and 20's? Maybe a stint in England.

He had to take the 20's gig to get into a system, he'd won two premierships in a row at Wynnum and wasn't going to go too far from there. When Bennett tried to get Hook to the Broncos he told him you can coach in the state comp as much and as long as you want it won't get you an NRL gig. You need to be inside the system for people to see your work.

He'll do a good job, he's a very good communicator and his Wynnum teams peaked at the right time playing very simple mistake fee football but hard defence.

He'll be a good player's coach up there.

Yeah kicking coach at the Broncs AFAIK, not sure how much input he had into anything else. 3 years ago was his first real go at coaching so to go from there to head coach in the NRL I would say is very fast. Usually most coaches have to be 2ic for a few years at NRL level to get a look in.

He was at the Broncos for five years and was assistant to Henjak. His role was with Alf as assistant.
