What did everyone make of the Latrell penalty that got the Panthers to 22-22?

They were more hard dine by either the Edwards try.

For 5 years that has been a penalty, then last week in our game they decide to make it a judgement call to allow the ref to determine if they believe the try can be stopped.

For me, I would be feeling VERY hard done by if that was Souths. I know it happened to Herbie earlier in the year, so it's obviously 'the rules' but it's a shit rule.

I would feel hard done by as well, but it's clear that Latrell jumps the gun early. He has to wait for Martin to play the ball with his foot, if you watch the highlights, you'll notice he steps off the line before Liam gets foot to ball.

Technically he has to wait until the referee calls 'Go' but that's usually what the officials are waiting for.

I will say anywhere else on the park and they'd let Latrell go. Just about all the top teams will step off the line as soon as the player puts the ball down to play it, which is how certain teams get away with being off-side.

Kinda what happens when you make sport such an important part of national culture, a political distraction and essentially a fundamental part to life of certain parts of the citizenry. Does not help that the technology is there to allow this faceless, distant method instead of the more old-school methods of assault and abuse.
