Luke Brooks moved to 5/8.

It could work, but the likely reality is that it won't. The Tigers and Brooks need to part ways and move on. Whether they can achieve that due to his salary remains to be seen, but they need to drop him and bring up someone else.

@theshed remember when I highlighted my concerns with the Dragons versatility? This is the exact scenario I was talking about. Mbye and Bird working in tandem with Amone off the bench just seems utterly listless and cynical. I fail to see how this plays to the Dragons strengths or helps them moving forward.

In better news, their NSW Cup side finally won a game on the weekend. The bad news is that they nearly gave up a 30-4 lead with less than 30 to go. If Hawkins' boot was on, it would have been a draw. Before then they were getting smashed week after week. I could understand leaving your best prospects in a winning team and allowing them to develop good habits but that's obviously not happening.

They have to win this weekend. At home against a struggling team, this is pretty much it and we're only six weeks into the competition.

Sad thing for the Dragons really is in the trials and every game i've seen them this year, Moose has been their best half!

Griffin is an absolutely awful coach. I'm shocked the Dragons extended him off the back of 8 straight losses.

Mbye fullback and Bird 5/8. Lol, that's just comedy.

McGuire owes them big time this season. Needs to cut the rubbish out of his game and just do the hard yakka.

What annoys me about the Dragons is that they play their best brand of footy when they get on top defensively. Yet their starting pack contains all these loose units - player who go well in other roles but in tandem have let their team down constantly these past few weeks.

Honestly changing the number on his back isn't going to change a he'll of a lot.

Well that was just soft AF by Starling.

The Cows legit get a garbage penalty out of trouble more often than not. No wonder they complete so high as all their sets finish with a penalty on play 2...

Papalii and Tapine have set a brilliant platform for the Raiders. The Cowboys are really struggling to contain them and it's just allowing the Raiders to roll through their sets. Unfortunately for Canberra they can't quite come up with the finishing touches. Their two tries tell the story - a dummy half dart by Starling and a do or die tap on by CHN. I still think their attack lacks direction and they're not great at getting the ball to their outside backs.

For the Cowboys they just seem out of rhythm. Robson appears to be struggling to get the ball in front of players, Townsend's passing game is making life difficult for the receivers and Dearden is too busy hanging down his short-side to make an impact. Forwards aren't really doing a good job either, McLean really isn't charging into the line with any gusto and they're not doing a great job of involving Taumalolo. Far too many 'standing start' runs, the Payne Haas special as I like to call it.

Pretty important second half coming up here for the Cowboys. A good opportunity to separate themselves from the pack, we'll see if they can warm into the contest.

Classic rookie mistake there.

Keen to see how Savage goes.
