CROSS FORUM NRL 2023 Round 7 Discussion

hip drops are only a thing because of the game being made faster.

It's one of those ones where old mate comes in looking for a shot but pulls out halfway through... Munster knows it's coming and drops like a sack of shit.

It's not like he's been sent flying backwards after the shot... if it's a shoulder charge with any sort of power then Munster isn't dropping straight to the ground he's getting folded in half

As much of a shit show as it will get, the only way they are going to stop it is just make every player who stays down leave the field.

Not looking forward to facing Olakuatu in origin.

To me yes Ezra is pushing himself into the tackle and bracing for the contact, but he's basically succumbing in the tackle and then working him onto his back (why I thought he made contact off the back foot) ... whilst Whitehead is driving forward through his run.

Whereas Cheese is driving through that tackle with his shoulder... no intent to catch and wrap.

OK, just so we're clear because Smith 'won' the contact that was enough for it to go from a penalty to a sin-bin?

This is becoming awfully like this:

That 9 extra kilos made the difference.

Embarrasing that Jonah from Tonga just ran past Coates like he wasnt there.

Cooper Johns hitting top gear ..

surely that's a bin if it's consistent.

I see no difference in this tackle from the Niukore tackle, rubbish.

Exactly and the NRL has been garbage with that so far.

If you want to stay down for any sort of high shot, late shot, shoulder charge, etc. off for a HIA... regardless of whether you get a penalty or not

Jurbo has upended Munster... another bin coming up

Prestons from memory wasn't much different to that and he was binned.

It is Melbourne, with someone already in the bin though..

It was much worse then that because he was legs off the ground for the whole motion till the end, but a hip drop has been a sin bin by default, which is what makes it inconsistent.

That warriors one wasn't even a hip drop.

These teams are going to be down a few players next week.
