Anytime there's a rep game everyone who qualifies should get a game off their suspension.

If they bring back the QCup City vs. Country game, that should also be included.

They need to be selected, otherwise if we're going black and white rep games don't count, they should be able to play rep games while suspended and rep games should have a parallel suspension system.

that's actually not the worst idea

I believe soccer does something like that in Europe.

e.g. if you get your suspension in a cup game, you can still play premier league matches or if you get suspended in a domestic league, you can still play internationals ... of course the difference it that there are a hell of a lot more of those things than there are rugby league rep games

I would have called Latrell's bluff and just allowed him to play. It can be like Flegler and McGuire's situation where they can play trials but they still have to serve their games.

Chances are Souths wouldn't have let him play regardless.

I take umbrage to the fact Mitchell has basically come out and shown no remorse for his tackle and declared he doesn’t need to change the way he plays.

They should be giving him an extra week for being a fuckwit, not reducing it by a week.

I dont want it to happen but the nrl and Mitchell seriously deserve something so bad to happen in his return game that it makes national news and ends his career. And tbh, the fact he blames the game for his suspension I wouldn't be surprised if it something does happen.

This is fucking disgusting, but it just doesn't surprise anyone anymore. There is no denying that if he played for us or some other club this would not be happening. It's funny that people joke about it because it is so painfully obvious these days, and people who used to come out with the "stop with the conspiracies" are getting less and less. It's just blatant by the nrl that some clubs have different rules.

I heard the same (Mitchell's comment) on the radio this morning and I completely agree. It's obvious that this is a fuckwit and a bully that has been coddled his whole life because he happens to be able to play football well. And the same is still happening because he has happened to play for two teams that hold a lot of sway in the NRL. It really isn't his fault, it's the fault of those around him that are willing to overlook and make allowances for his attitude because they benefit from him being on the field winning them games. Unfortunately, my petty side really does want to see him ironed the **** out and humbled a bit.

Melbourne and the Warriors now hitting up the NRL for a reduction in the bans of Smith and Walsh as both would have played in that rep game. I hate to say it in the case of the Storm, but they have a valid point here. There is no way the NRL can pick and choose both what games and what incidents count to bans being upheld. They have to be consistent.
