the DT reporting that Andrew Webster, the Panthers assistant will be announced as the Warriors new coach.

they say it is "understood" Webster has signed a 3 year contract
May God have mercy on his soul, poor bugger.

Warriors need a kiwi coach, even though there is none out there, any coach who might do a job at warriors will leave the moment another offer comes.

No need to know or remember his name, like every other coach, he'll be in and out before you know it.

It was never in doubt but locked in until 2034.

VLANDY'S ... LEAVE THE FUCKING RULES ALONE.

in case you haven't heard, they said on NRL 360 tonight that the NRL are considering yet another rule change. (this is in response to the Ben Hunt repeated fouls against Canberra).

the rule will mean that the game will be extended past the 80 minutes and give the team in possession the opportunity to finish their set, no matter how long it takes, effectively until they score or handover possession.

That's a fucked rule

For **** sake... there are already rules in place to deal with what Bhunt did... it's called 'discretion'.

The ref can call a penalty instead of a six again whenever the **** they deem it's warranted.

Sack the fucking ref for not knowing the rules and leave the fucking rules alone.

Could you imagine the fucking mayhem in the media if a team is given 12 tackles after the siren and eventually scores a game winner. If they think the shit storm from a Canberra support base is anything compared to that rule leading to a GF deciding try or origin deciding try then they have no fucking idea what damage they are causing to the game.

I wonder if anyone told them they could just call a fucking penalty.

You just know we'll be the first team screwed by this, it'll be a close game, ref calls a BS 6 again and the game is extended a full set, or two, or three until we're scored against.

Regardless of having to use "discretion" to blow a penalty, if it is a genuine act of deliberate foul play, they can always bin Hunt and the attacking team get the penalty anyway. Allowing more "discretion" just gives the refs more avenues of manipulation.

The stupid thing on top of this rule is what about a normal game??

Under this stupid rule, why not just allow the team with the ball to finish out their last set of the game... what's the difference?? What if they started their 'last set' 2mins earlier because of penalties and six agains...

What if a player purposely knocks the ball down on an intercept attempt in their 'last set'... it becomes an error and ends the game... are they going to go full Union and make that a penalty??

Do these idiots realise that teams have just had to deal with games ending during a tackle for 115 years, and they're proposing to change it because their stupid fucking ref didn't know how to enforce a stupid fucking rule this stupid fucking admin introduced 2yrs ago.

If the idiot ref called a penalty then Canberra would've taken the two ... after the siren

If Canberra were down by 4 and the idiot ref called a penalty (like he was supposed to)... then Canberra would've received an extra tackle to score... after the siren.

If they concede another penalty on the extra tackle... the idiot ref calls another penalty and Canberra get another tackle.. after the siren

The rules already fucking exist

These guys have come up with some dumb shit but this one takes the cake. Can't see it happening, the push back would be monumental, but to even float the idea....wow.

They usually come up with dumb crap like this to deflect away from some other really bad news but the day before Origin? This is moronic - even for V’landys.

How has old mate only got 3 weeks?
