So to promote the "fact" that they want to breed home-grown talent, they use a player who was poached from a rival ...

That'll do me, lol
Who the hell else would they choose... there's no Vics in the squad... or coaching.. or organisation 🤔🤔

At the very least it should have been someone they developed and/or made their debut with the Storm.

not an Origin player they poached from a rival

LOL. Xavier kicking off his standup routine with “we want to breed homegrown talent”.

I suppose, if they brought through two more local juniors, they would double their development from their last 25 years - that’s an accomplishment.

So he was talking about a Victorian afl team? That makes more sense.

Reed Mahoney, Ray Faitala-Mariner and Matt Burton have been named Bulldogs captains

Ray Faitala -Mariner is the new club captain and has been tasked to lead the charge on Club culture alongside Josh Addo-Carr, Viliame Kikau and Max King

the game day on field captaincy will be shared by co-captains Matt Burton and Reed Mahoney

For all the money they’ve been throwing around, that’s a pretty lacklustre leadership group.

They still have a pretty ordinary squad as well. I seriously doubt all the money they’ve spent will make much of a difference to where they finish on the ladder.

It’ll be glorious to watch too, shall it transpire that way 😂

Penrith tiring themselves out before our round 1 game...

A man who drowned at a Sydney beach on Saturday while trying to save two strangers has been identified as the uncle of NRL star Marty Tapau.

Father-of-six Talitiga Taupau is being remembered as a hero after swimming into a rip at Shelly Beach in Cronulla in a bid to save the struggling swimmers, 9 News reported on Sunday evening.

So apparently Mattersons 3 match suspension has been upheld by the NRL.

The Eels tried to have it overturned with a fine imposed instead (he has that option at the time) ... the NRL have denied this application
