"The Paul Green legacy lives on.

In a fitting tribute to the former Cronulla Sharks great and first coach to lead North Queensland Cowboys to a premiership, Green will be recognised with his very own medal.

The Sharks and Cowboys are poised to announce they will play for the inaugural Paul Green Medal this season, an everlasting reminder of the late footballer’s impact on the game and a reminder to all about the devastating impact of CTE.

The Sharks will host the Cowboys at PointsBet Stadium in round nine on April 27 of the upcoming 2023 NRL season, with the man of the match from the game to be awarded the special medal."

According to the DT Angus Crichton is in hospital and has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Statement by his father
“I can confirm today that Angus is under appropriate professional support and treatment for medically diagnosed bipolar disorder, which he has been dealing with for some time,” Charlie Crichton said on Thursday night. “He is fully supported by his family, his management and the Sydney Roosters club as he works towards recovery. “While no timeline has been set for his return to rugby league, we will continue to trust his medical team and know those within the rugby league community will respect his right to privacy during this time.”

So, this looks suspiciously like something a club would release to get on the front foot if a player has done something wrong. I'm just being my usual cynical self, so if I'm wrong, full support and credit to Crighton for seeking help. But with the Roosters in particular, I can't just accept anything about them at face value.

Is the link for the Crichton story still available? I can't find it anywhere on DT.

"The Cronulla Sharks have slammed the state government over funding backflips to build a new centre of excellence.
Every other NSW-based NRL team, plus the Sydney Swans and the GWS Giants, has received cash from the government for stadiums and high-performance centres in recent years. The Sharks have had nothing.

“It’s embarrassing and it’s disgusting,” said Sharks CEO Dino Mezzatesta."

$1b for the Roosters? LOL.
$350m for Penrith?
Zero for The Sharks.

Well, I guess we all know what the agenda will be on the first episode of NRL360. Buzz is gonna lose his mind lol.

1 billion to the Roosters? Surely that’s a typo.
Isn't that the same figure for their salary cap?

No surprises here lol. 😆

In all seriousness though .. it's a c+p. Hopefully an error though lol. Otherwise they could have simply mixed up the salary cap figure with the figure above lol.

Further into the article there is this quote ..

"....Instead the government has handed out another $15 million to the Roosters, another $15 million to the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown plus $11 million to North Sydney Oval....."

Maybe the journos are just stirring $hit up .. again.

Don't worry he's all over it... of course I'm sure he'll be providing a clear and unbiased view when it comes to the sharks

Oh they’re covering….if the rumours are true.

What are the rumours? They can't be that stupid.
Just found them. Sounds like something a souths supporter has made up. Doesn't come across like a dude that has wild mood swings though. But you never know what demons people are going through behind closed doors. I hope he gets the help he needs regardless.
