I also suspect that fans actually loved it because it would have led to better games and the usual teams like the Storm and Roosters not getting away with basic stupidity. Alas, Gould and his band of channel 9 cronies complained so loud and misleadingly claimed that they represented fan views, which of course, I don't think they did.

I actually think the majority of fans are sick to death of this current administration from top to bottom. I think fans would love a clean out of NRL officialdom, management and commentary but alas, its a boys club and they all just rub each others' backs.
The conduit to the people, aka the media, do not want an NRL clean out though... primarily because they will lose all of their existing contacts and will be looking for a new job... so dont expect them to be championing anything like that on behalf of the fans

To be fair, I don't expect it but also refuse to accept that this is the best league can be. I get so annoyed at how poor everything NRL is. Total amateurism masquerading as a professional sport.

its a shame afl sucks because it is administrated 500x better than the nrl

It is so is, it is embarrassing the difference in management. I love the AFL BUT I think that league is a better game, at least for tv purposes and ratings would suggest the same, how does an administration like the NRL get just about everything so wrong?

David Riccio is reporting (on NRL 360) that Ryles is getting cold feet on going to the Dragons.

Riccio said

“There has certainly been no movement and that’s concerning for me if I’m a St George Illawarra fan that wants to see Jason Ryles get there,” Riccio said on NRL360 on Tuesday night.

“I can tell you today that there’s been no movement from Jason Ryles to go ahead and take this job.

“He has certainly got concerns around the club’s football structure.

“This is a rookie coach that does not want to walk in to a club that does not have a general manager of football and a head of recruitment that he has trust and faith in that can help his career.

“It’s Jason hoping that the football club actually shows some experience as well and realise what is required to be a successful footy club,” Riccio said.

“When Cameron Ciraldo walked into the Bulldogs he had a general manager of football called Phil Gould there.

“When Craig Fitzgibbon went in to the Sharks he had general manager of football Darren Mooney, Trent Robinson had Nick Politis.

“They need some leadership at the Dragons for Jason to have some belief in.”

I think the Dragons should seriously consider Graham Annersley. The amount of shit that is going wrong with that club since way before the multiple sex scandals and 'illegal or forbidden' bbq's, suggests they need to start with a spin doctor that can deflect the obvious shambles the club is in and Graham has got to be one of the best in the business in terms of selling NRL fans shit on a stick.

So apparently we've dropped to 9th in the power rankings...below the Wests Tigers, Dolphins and Sea Eagles.

Apparently losing to Souths, Storm and Panthers makes you not worthy of top 8, even without your key players.

Any of those three sides would have lost by 30+ to the panthers side we faced.

Yes but in the case of the Warriors, 1 win against the Dogs, a bye and two losses takes you to fifth.

The bloke who does those power rankings is probably a regular on this forum, we lose a game or two against top tier opposition and suddenly we've got a squad that would struggle in the QLD Cup.

Not NRL but in the ESL last night between Hull KR and Wigan, the match was very briefly suspended and players were asked to leave the field because of a stray drone flying over the field.
