I've always thought Ryan James is a filthy cheap shot merchant.

There was nothing obviously wrong with the tackle but I have no doubt being the Gallen type he is, would have went unnecessarily hard on an already completed tackle.

So to answer your question, no I don't think there's anything to be done about it, but I understand why Hook's angry.

There have been plenty of worse, similar tackles this year. This is another area that should have been cleaned up in advance by the NRL because there was always going to be a bad injury at some point from this type of tackle.

As far as Hook being upset, if he is so concerned about player welfare he should stop Sitaleki Akauola from attacking the head of defenders with deliberate shoulder charges. This bloke has already knocked out a few players this year and his intent IMO is clear. He turns sideways and drops his shoulder late into the head of the defender. It's a legal tactic but when he gets it "right" it's downright dangerous.

So all debate over the tackle aside, is Campbell-Gillard ok? I can't imagine a cracked disk in the back can be good for your long-term health.

Gallen was on the Sundaay footy show saying he was fine with it. Same thing happened to Barba in the sharks match and Gallen said it's just part of the game.

I think the tackle on Lowe has been looked at and cleared. I'm not defending the Storm here because I hate their defensive style and what it does to rugby league but Paul Green is becoming a first class whinger and manipulator through the media.
