CONFIRMED: TEDESCO TO QUIT TIGERS

Statement from the Wests Tigers:

Wests Tigers can confirm that James Tedesco will be departing the club at the end of the 2017 NRL season.

Tedesco’s management have informed Wests Tigers that he will be continuing his playing career at another NRL club.

Tedesco has played 78 games for Wests Tigers since making his debut in Round 1 of the 2012 season.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe wished Tedesco well for the next stage of his playing career.

“I’m sure this decision hasn’t been made lightly by James and while it will be disappointing to see him leave at season's end we will continue to provide him with all the support he needs,” said Pascoe.

“James is a quality young man, both on and off the field, and I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to his new club.”

CONFIRMED: TEDESCO SIGNS ON WITH ROOSTERS

Aaaaand James Tedesco's new club has (finally) been confirmed.

Statement from Sydney Roosters:

The Sydney Roosters have today announced the marquee signing of the reigning Dally M Fullback of the Year, James Tedesco.
24-year-old Tedesco has signed a four-year deal with the Roosters commencing in 2018.

“James is a tremendously exciting talent whose signature we are pleased to have secured and we look forward to welcoming him to the Roosters in 2018,” said Sydney Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly.

Tedesco has played 78 NRL matches to date. He made his State of Origin debut with New South Wales in 2016 and represented
NSW City on two occasions (2013, 2015). He has also represented the Prime Minister’s XIII on one occasion (2016) and played three Tests for Italy (2013).

Representing NSW city or country should never put on a resume. I was born in NSW before moving to QLD as a very tiny tot and I reckon even though I am a through and through Qlder who would be horrible at NRL level, I could even get a game for one of those sides.

Is Gordon only signed for 2017?

Atleast the tigers showed some class. Unlike some clubs

Oh come on, what have the Sharks done wrong in recent years? I mean, its not like the defending premiers won with a side that probably should have mostly been suspended or anything.

... captained by a guy whose dodgy 3rd party financier publicly outed him and the club's dodgy practices, while journos refused to cover it...

Kane Evans 3 year deal to Parra also confirmed

Evans out, Tedesco in. Sounds legit, nothing to see here from the press.

they lost Evans ... so the Roosters accountants will be able to fit in another couple of marquee signings

There was talk of Guerra leaving, so even when he stays, that talk is as good as done, so basically freeing up space.

Evans and Gordon would still not be worth Tedesco, but with the cap going up approx $2 million, it means they can pay each player an extra $500k/yr and still sneak in.

There are suggestions that Semi Radradra will backflip on his Toulon deal and stay with the Eels.
