NRL Player Movements and Rumours 2015

I wonder if the Roosters will see more Sonny days? Or if they can snag an Izzy or Burgess?

Either way, I can't see all those rumours being true and let's remember that they're supposed to be signing Brett Stewart from Manly in what could be a great signing for the Chooks.

They've also spent a lot of many upgrading contracts and they've signed up a lot of their promising up and coming talent.

If Manly are to sign Bird, not only will they have to give up Stewart, they'll also have to give up a few players like Mateo to sign him up.

They would be fine just giving up Stewart who is on a mint at manly anyways. Its not like Bird is going to command 800k a year

1. Michael Gordon
2. Semi Radradra
3. Brad Takairangi
4. Will Hopoate
5. Reece Robinson
6. Corey Norman
7. Keiran Foran
8. Darcy Lussick
9. Nathan Peats
10. Tim Mannah (c)
11. Beau Scott
12. Tepai Moeroa
13. Anthony Watmough

14. Kenny Edwards
15. Manu Ma'u
16. Junior Paulo
17. Danny Wicks

Decent team if they can stay healthy, Foran and Gordon will add a lot of stability to the team, which is what they desperately need.

Lewis Brown to the Eagles - 3 year deal.

Much better option than Greg Bird imo, good choice by Manly.

BBC Sport - Kevin Locke: Salford full-back quits Super League side

Kevin Locke has quit the Salford Reds due to unpaid wages.

Reasonably young
Has good speed
Can play wing
Can score tries
Can goal kick

We could do worse if we have any money left over before the June 30 deadline, at the very least he'd be great injury cover for wing / fullback.

Apparently he's headed to Canberra.

Why?

He wouldn't even have a 5% chance of cracking their first grade side, Wighton, Croker, Leilua, Lee, Waqa, Rapana.

I dunno. That's just what has been said over the last few weeks. It is the only team that he has been linked too. I don't want him at the Broncos. There's a reason he got released from his Salford contract so easily. He has been terrible.

He hasn't been released as of yet, he's offered to resign from the club as he hasn't been paid his full wages, or something of the sort.

With that being said, apparently he's been quite injury prone over the last couple of years.

I'd still take a punt on him if he's cheap, we need some try scoring wingers, even if it's only depth.

Yeah but Marwan Koukash has been trying pretty hard to get rid of him as well. The reasons are his injuries, he's on a fair bit of money and he's been terrible. We have young try scoring wingers. What we need is strong, fast, try scoring wingers who defend and catch a ball.

Who doesn't?..

You can't just pluck the perfect wingers out of thin air, can only take what's available.

Locke hasn't been the same since he superman'd in to the goal post.

I thought he had a really strong 2011 and was crucial to the Warriors ascension into the GF. The combination of Locke, Maloney and SJ in space was just so difficult to contain, especially when they were 'on'.

He just couldn't back that season up. Not entirely sure what happened but his form deteriorated something fierce and before long he was looking to get out.

I'm unsure if he was a victim of bad coaching, poor management or just inadequate professionalism. Going by how other players went, I'd lean towards the former but his stint in Salford really reflects poorly on him.

Either way, it isn't in the Broncos best interests to chase him. If he's going to get back to his best, he needs a club that's going to play him at fullback and the Broncos cannot make those assurances. As a fan, I'd much rather see the Broncos blood an untried talent like Byrnes or Anderson before Locke.

Brett Stewart to the Roosters now as well by the looks of a few tweets I've seen.

Nightingale re-signs until the end of 2017.

Pritchard off to Hull FC at the end of the season.

With Maloney heading to the Sharks I wonder if Barba will be heading to his third club in three years.

Yeah dunno if Barba will ever play first grade again honestly, he's cooked.

I assume the Sharks will go with this next year -

1. Holmes
6. Bird
7. Maloney
9. Ennis
