I've never thought stats tell the whole story. Always had the same gripe though. People dismiss complimentary stats when discussing a despised player yet point to them when it concerns their beloved. That's people I suppose. I think, as you obviously do that stats tell part of the story and should always be used in conjunction with observations.

I believe you. Sometimes loyalties are misplaced though. If we are still being run as a basket case in another year or 2 you can hardly criticise others for looking elsewhere for their entertainment. Ala sproj and the Brisbane lions. I admitted I’d follow both. I like a lot of the teams these days. Far more of a casual observer than a diehard fan focussed on one team these days. The broncos have given up their right to my rose coloured glasses.
