Outside back Jesse Arthars will play for the New Zealand Warriors on loan for the 2022 season.

The 23-year-old will then return to the Broncos for the 2023 NRL season to complete the final year of his contract.

The Broncos wish Jesse all the best for the season ahead and look forward to welcoming him back with more first grade experience under his belt in 2023.
Wow strange move. Freeing up a top 30 spot for someone I guess?

He could give all the star players a million each off the books and it wouldn't put a dent in his bank account.
Exactly. Cheap cars, cheap houses, ”smart” investment advice. He has his fingers in so many pies the possibilities are endless, I doubt he bothers losing bets on the golf course as some roosters reject would have spilled their guts by now.

anyone know if he’s still part owner of the broncos?

Pretty sure he sold up earlier this year

Politis sold his shares (at least some of them, not sure if he sold them all) before DD/Ikin came on board.
Got out when he saw his ship starting to sink then. Saw the writing was on the wall.

he sold at the wrong time ... because if he waited a few months, he would have sold his shares at record high prices. although, i'm sure he doesn't need the money

I hate when we do this. Especially to the warriors after Walsh.

Melbourne Storm has received written confirmation that Brandon Smith will leave the club at the end of his current contract at the end of the 2022 NRL season.
Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said today: “Recent comments made by Brandon in a podcast, and the way he expressed them, do not align with Storm’s values and the way we operate as a club.”

“The statements have deeply offended current and former players, coaches, staff and board members and the club strongly rejects the comments made about the Storm culture.”

“We acknowledge Brandon’s apology made on social media today and his willingness now to prepare for the 2022 season with Storm.”

“Brandon has every right to explore future opportunities as any player would in his position, and ultimately we respect his decision to play football elsewhere from 2023.” Rodski said.

That's corporate speak for **** you Brandon.

This is tough reading lol, that's a trash apology. **** I'm happy we didn't even bother talking to him, he seems like a total flog.

Sadly still more of an apology then we got from White or Seibold.

Isaac Lumelume has reportedly left the storm effective immediately for personal reasons. Storm did recently re-sign him for 2022. I have no idea why he's left but he could be a handy pickup for cheap.

On a side note, anyone know what's happening with Nelson? Has he been sacked, there's been surprisingly very little talk about it.

signing another outside back would then defeat the purpose of releasing Arthars

While I partly agree Lumelume looks like a Vunivalu clone the way he plays, could be a genuine NRL player whereas Arthars I think is more likely to stay in the depth chart.

So after that they still keep him for the next year. He really made them his bitch. Bit fishy if you ask me, he probably knows things.

On one hand, I get it, as I think Jesse is good enough to play first grade, but I hope we’ve got the depth and aren’t having to throw kids in again when Staggs gets injured.
