Munster on 1.2m next year, Storm are offering him a 3 year extension after that for 750k a year. Dolphins are offering 3m/3 years.

So if he stays he's sacrificing 750k.

Storm could release him early if the Dolphins are offering him 1m as it gives them 1m extra next year to sign more players from whoever wins the wooden spoon.

I honestly think 750k is fair for Munster- he can be brilliant, he is awesome sometimes. He's not a million dollar a year 20 great games guy.

Not disputing that at all, but I reckon there's multiple clubs that would happily give him a million.

Didn't he also say Benny was trying to 'steal' him from the Dragons. Whereas when the Rorters or his beloved Sharks do it it's more like the club encouraging the player to play for a 'better' team.

Let me start by saying the following info comes from Dean Ritchie and the Daily Telegraph; the article also contains zero quotes from anyone ... but according to them:

The Knights have pulled their contract extension offer for Kayln Ponga

some more details:

• last week both parties agreed to terms (including TPA's)
• Sources close to Ponga and the club claim his father, Andre, wanted authority over when the new deal would be announced publicly, not the club.
• Certain factions inside Newcastle are unsettled at the influence Andre seems to now have at the club.
• Senior Knights management were fed up with the announcement delays and the money they needed to outlay for a player struggling to find form
• the Knights wanted to publicly reveal their Ponga coup last week because they needed to release a feel-good story; but Andre wanted the announcement delayed.
• Ponga has until round 10 to activate the final 2 years of his contract and now could sign elsewhere for 2023
• this will free up the club to make a play for Munster

would not surprise me one bit if in 48 hours knights announce re-signing of ponga and dean will use the old things change and they must of patched it all up.

still it would be rather ballsy for him to write a article like that and nothing come of it so there must be at least some sort of truth to the knights management and andre not seeing eye to eye.
