Nah Upton has been in the works at every level. She was co-captain with Ali last year and took over from her at origin, and probably will with the Jillaroos as well
Romdog will be vice captain though presumably out of her, Duzzi and Robbo

I haven’t been able to find anything, hopefully it’s on somewhere
I haven’t been able to keep as much track as I used to, mostly as I got rid of social media, so perhaps there’s something there but I can’t see it.
Really excited to see that backline and see who’ll be filling the wing and centre spots left open by Ciesiolka and Mele leaving plus no Maddick (seemingly retired? Despite signing on, she’s not in the Top 24 anymore) and also Robbo and Upton’s injuries. So at the least there’s 2 full positions open in the backline this year once they’re back.
I haven’t seen Bartlett play yet really but all accounts is that she’s more than capable
No Adams in the squad, they must want her to keep working in BMD, but I do wonder whether she’ll get anywhere close to the starting side this year or if the club is just seeing the option out, and judging if we proceed with her post-Ali, because I don’t see Southwell sticking around after her 2 years either.
Big year for TMW - she’s been a pretty big bust as far as signings go, unfortunately through injury, and has been quickly overtaken by the kids.
Speaking of, that team just doesn’t look right without Shalom there. Hope she’s recovering and rehabbing well

Actually the white jersey is a new one.
I didn't look at it properly and I thought they were using last year's away jersey but turns out it's a new design.

Finally got around to watching it
Bartlett is already a far better 1 v 1 defender than Upton. She’s a great backup to have, communicated well and knew where to be
Urwin looked good early, but had a few moments. She’ll be better for the run, and a lot of bomb catching practice won’t hurt
Rhemy and Patai looked really good in the centres, and Rhemy went great at hooker in the second half. No mucking around and got the ball out asap
Kez showed last year wasn’t a fluke - great first showing for the year and was a leader for that very young backline
Ali and Southwell were fine. Good try from Jesse (it’s still weird though). Hopefully Ali can put everything left in her into this year and praying she keeps up with the speed of the game
The forwards went as expected, but we definitely need them to match what Neta and Shalom gave us last year. Nice quick footed try by Spreadborough late to get us the win - it’s what she’s good at
Having said that, Harlem Walker looks very exciting. Strong runner and could be that Shalom-type player for us.
Misa didn’t do a great deal - looked like she had trouble keeping her footing a few times, like her brain was going faster than her feet could carry her
Parr looks solid at the least, could be a more than serviceable backup half.
All in all, the girls looked good for a first trial.
We definitely can defend our title, and if we keep these kids, we’re going to be just as good in another year or twos time

I would like to see Papali'i used in a roaming lock role off the bench. She looks like she could do a good job in that type of role.

I think that’s what she’ll be when we play full strength, provided she makes the side.
She’s a 5/8th-leaning lock, rather than a middle forward lock
