NSW Origin I Side

Morris has always handled Inglis well when GI has played opposite him in the centres

Yeah, but that's pretty much all he has done in the Origin arena.

When your team is behind on points and you need someone to get over the line, Morris is not exactly that guy.

They need to go for someone else.

So...probably:

1. Moylan
2. Mansour
3. Jennings
4. Dugan
5. Fergusen
6. Maloney
7. Reynolds
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Gallen
11. Jackson
12. Cordner
13. Bird

14. Frizell/Walker
15. Tamou
16. Klemmer
17. Fifita

I think they've got it pretty much right for once to be honest...unless they pick Morris or Walker as the 14. Frizell I really rate.

It's funny seeing people talk up Ennis for a spot, wonder if they ever saw him play Origin he had no positive influence in any game he was in. I can't remember Ennis playing one good game at rep level.

Yeah but I haven't seen any other player anywhere else that keeps Inglis in check as good as J-Morris does.

No Pearce!!!!!!
**** we better put in some effort this series

Whare did a good job.

Even Tohu Harris kept GI reasonably quiet.

Tohu freakin Harris.

If NSW were that concerned about keeping GI quiet, just play Aitken there.

QLD should really target Dugan in the centres. Defending against Inglis is going to give him nightmares. Oates will score a couple of tries I reckon

Reckon Woods and Tamou should be starters, not Gallen. Nsw are going to be extremely hard to beat this time and I expect a series win for them. Naturally I don't want that to happen but we've been destabilised with Mal leaving and a bunch of new faces in Walters support staff. Some of our guys are plodding and I think we have just slipped over the collective age threshold .

I think Fifita and Klemmer are going to be the difference and like all the big games, they will have the asendency in the forwards to get the win.

In saying that, Morris is a much better centre than Dugan.

Dugan should either be the fullback, or not in the team at all.

Last year, Queensland managed to survive Game I by a point.

NSW had this side...
1. Josh Dugan
2. Will Hopoate
3. Michael Jennings
4. Josh Morris
5. Daniel Tupou
6. Mitch Pearce
7. Trent Hodkinson
8. Aaron Woods
9. Robbie Farah
10. James Tamou
11. Beau Scott
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Josh Jackson

14. Trent Merrin
15. Boyd Cordner
16. David Klemmer
17. Andrew Fifita

Comparatively, the squad Laurie announced looks far better on paper.

Moylan is more well rounded fullback than Dugan, Mansour is better in every single way than Hopoate, Ferguson is a better version of Tupou, Maloney is actually a five-eighth, Reynolds brings what Hodkinson does but is in better form, Gallen is playing his best club footy since 2013 and has a presence on the field, Tamou is in better form than he was last year, Jackson is actually picked in his right position and Bird has been one of the form backrows and is an immediate improvement over what Jackson brought there.

Even the bench should be better. Klemmer has a series under his belt, Fifita's form has been so good he was able to recover from a sloppy one and done series and they don't lose much with Frizell.

On the other hand, Queensland look weaker.

Agree with all that BP. For once I am nowhere near as confident we already know the result. Good side picked and while Qld is still miles ahead in the halves, the forwards are at best on par, though I put NSW ahead for no real reason and if NSW picks right, their backline is stronger. If not for our massive edge in the halves, nsw would be favourites.

Not a bad squad at all, finally NSW getting their shit together. Particularly concerned with Klemmer. He is just such a mongrel mut and think origin suits him to a tee. Not a bad player either though does give away a cheap penalty or two. He can make some easy metres thru the middle.

will be a lot harder this year though think we will just sneak thru.

Klemmer and Josh Reynolds are both perfect for origin because they're both grubby and can get away with that rubbish in it, same as why Myles is so much better at that level.

Yeah, Ennis is the Pearce of hookers. Just was shit too often to be picked again.

That's funny because your usual state hooker has never had a positive influence on any club he's been at.

Something Robbie has done in his career that Ennis hasn't done and is unlikely to do so, the Sharks are a chance this year though so he does have a chance.

I know that image is labelled as Farah, but that sure looks like Benji.
