James Tamou (North Queensland Cowboys)
Dylan Walker (Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles)

and Cartwright as a development player

That's not the order of the side. No positions named yet.

But Cartwright was named as a development player.

So really the only question is who comes onto the bench - whether it's Walker, Cartwright or Frizell. Surely Morris won't be selected off the bench (again)?

I think the best choice out of Walker, Frizell and Cartwright would be Cartwright.

He has the potential to cause problems for the QLD defence, a lot more than what Frizell and Walker would.

He can play anywhere. Back 5, halves, forwards. He is a versatile player and I think he would be the best choice.

The big question mark is his defence. But I think NSW really need to start taking risks. The method they have been using lately just isn't working. I agree with Steve Turner in the live stream broadcast. NSW need to start taking it to QLD instead of trying to grind out a win.

Dylan Walker is a really wtf selection. I haven't seen anything from him that warrants selection. Having Cartwright or Bird on the bench would be far better.

I'm quite happy with that squad and feel we've made some good selections.

Hang on.

Isn't it a 19 man squad, with Cartwright specifically listed as a development player?

So it's between Frizell and Walker.

Wait, what the **** is Dylan Walker doing there?

Bryce Cartwright is out with a thumb injured and set to be replaced in the squad.

I actually think it is one of the better teams named by NSW for a long time. It's is definitely the best halves pairing that have named in the last 10 years.

Pretty much what I expected. Still leaves a few questions. I'd assume Dugan is in contention for a centre spot as Moylan seems more specialized as a fullback.

if you include the development player, 20 players have been named

Ta Foordy, I may have taken the easy train and dropped Maths B in Grade 11 but I can count.

My point is, Cartwright is (well, was) an intern. He isn't considered a candidate like Frizell, Morris or Walker. So it's effectively 19 (+1) instead of 20.

They are mad for not picking Coote at fullback and they are mad for not picking Josh Morris in the centres. I think they actually have the halves right this time though.

I disagree about Coote. Moylan plays for a shittier side and with a far shittier coach, but he's an upgraded and younger version of Coote IMO.

Disagree about Morris too, he's shit.

Morris has always handled Inglis well when GI has played opposite him in the centres

Don't rule out the possibility of Moylan playing from the bench.

It really wouldn't surprise me if NSW go for that option.

Way off the mark but I am not surprised.
