NSW Team for Game 2 - Official

Re: Dugan

[icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. @ Hopoate

Quite frankly one of the dumbest selections NSW could possibly make. With a philosophy like that NSW wont win again this decade.

Apparently Ricky wanted to select Cooper in game one and sat down with him and talked about it...Cooper wasn't keen. [icon_lol1.

So much for loyalty! I am suprised Snowden didn't get another chance he had big numbers against the Broncos on Friday. They have picked a very backrow heavy side and considering Gallen, Scott, Creagh and Bird are 80 minute players I don't see the point in having Lewis and Watmough both on the bench. Our props will really roll through the middle against the front row options they have picked for this game. This is a far inferior side to the last one even though the backline is much more dangerous with Hayne in it.

Re: NSW Team for Game 2

Can't believe they got rid of Snowden... Surely he will be leading the pack for NSW in the years to come.

14. Merrin
15. Gidley
16. Watmough
17. Lewis.

Some dribble from Nashy about Dugan:

Is he ****?

**** NSW!

This has been another edit by ning industries.

Much better team than game 1 imo. hayne and lewis will really bring some strike power to their team. I dont expect Dugan to play after his injury today. Hopoate is an interesting choice. He has been in great form, but playing fullback and wing. I would not be surprised to see the following changes before Wed week.

Dugan out
Hayne to fullback
Hopoate to wing
Idris to centre.

Re: NSW Team for Game 2

I can't believe after the belting they copped up front in game 1 they have gone out and picked only 2 specialist props for game 2! The 2 inexperienced and frankly out of depth halves will have 0 platform to work off and we will again dominate the battle for territory.

Fact is, Gidley is a class player. You throw Gidley at Fullback in the QLD side, he'll kick arse. You throw Morris in the QLD side on the wing, he'll kick arse. You throw Matt Cooper in the centres for QLD, he'll dominate - It's just how it has worked for QLD.

I don't think they would even on the to be picked list.

Re: NSW Team for Game 2

Not sure if its been said... but after the pathetic reasons stuart gave for picking jennings in the first game and leaving out hayne (not picking players out of position etc), he has shown himself to be the biggest hypocrit around. Hopoate is playing out of position, hayne is playing out of position and now gallen is playing out of position [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Re: NSW Team for Game 2

Petero and Scott are gonna carve them up. Not worried in the slightest about their forward choices. Hayne will be an X factor but he'll have no time with the ball in attacking territory with their forwards being dominated.

Morris, Jennings and King are confirmed out. So in for them are Hayne, Hopoate and Watmough.

Only 1 player was actually "Punted". And that was Kane Snowdon. I don't agree with it, but hopefully it'll make him a better player.

Let me dumb it down for you morons.

- Morris is injured and won't be ready for game 2. Therefore Hayne replaces him. Forced change.
- King is injured and won't be ready for game 2. Therefore Gallen moves into the front row, Mannah off the bench into the number 10 and Watmough gets a bench spot. Forced change.
- Jennings is injured and won't be ready for game 2. William Hopate replaces him. Forced change.
- Kurt Gidley returns from injury and was going to be picked for game 1 anyway. However he wasn't fit, so they went with Young. However, Gidley is available now so Young gets the punt - Forced change as Young was only covering for Gidley.

Therefore the only unforced change was Kane Snowdon. ONE single forced change for game 2. Well done Ricky.

Also, what an absolute masterstroke it could be from Ricky Stuart by picking Hopoate. Hopa might be thinking, "Shit...maybe I should re-think this Mormon mission...I just got selected for NSW!"....

It's a VERY strong team for game 2, and NSW should win. Bring on the decider for game 3.

woah ease up turbo. u might not be directing that at me, but ill speak as if u are. i think the team is much stronger than the first, but its just so hypocritical of stuart to name so many players out of position after what he said in game 1. He couldve stuck with this rule of not playing players out of position but he did a massive back flip. forced changes or not, he couldve got speciailist players for those positions if he wanted

Umm Gallen plays like a prop anyway, so he really isn't playing out of position. Dugan isn't expected to be ready, he'll struggle so Hayne will go straight to fullback and you could see Idris come into the centres or Scott move into the centres. OR Gidley may go to Fullback and Hayne kept on the wing but interchanged with Gidley during the game for the FB spot. It's not really hypocritical.

It is until those changes are made [icon_razz1 .. which if u read my post i predict will happen anyway

Hopoate at centre is hypocritical. I am fairly certain he hasn't played first grade there and the fact he is leaving for his mission shows that the 'build a team' mantra was just dribble.

How does Creagh end up starting oh [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

I know, he was just as ineffective as King and Snowden but gets rewarded [icon_shru

I think Stuart is just out of ideas already if this flat track bully is good enough to start at Origin level after yet another poor rep performance in game 1.

You are seriously deluded. Hoppa isn't likely to change his mind. Instead, you are picking a player out of position at the expense of Idris, a player who you could reasonably assume will be a fixture in the NSW team for years to come. This goes against everything NSW set out to achieve prior to this series. Again, you are seriously deluded if you think this is a masterstroke.

No, there aren't that many changes in personnel, but the change in philosophy from game 1 to game 2 is remarkable. We won't pick players out of position. We will be picking for the future. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

If you guys are the blue selectors then ummm yeah sure.[/quote:2th17lho]

No doubt we would pick a better team.

Nah they'll pick Brett Stewart to cover for Dugan instead
