No thank you! I'd much prefer Gidley in the 6, and Hayne occasionally shifting infield to lend an extra kicking option. He's not up to playing pivot, certainly not at this level.

That's true. But at least Gidley might throw a pass and put a teammate through a hole, rather than daintily tiptoeing about, with the ball precariously balanced in one hand, trying to outmanoeuvre and outmuscle a near-flawless Maroons defence all on his own.

If it wasn't a decider, I'd definitely like to see him thrown in there.

Since Stuart has specifically said he thinks Haynes best position is 5/8, I would say that's the most likely scenario should Soward not play.

Personally I would go with Carney, despite his ordinary form this season. He will probably relish the challenge and has the club combo with Pearce and Minichello.
