Off-Season

I think you missed my point. Who will Wayne want: Herbie or Jamayne?

I'm aware Herbie made a lot of breaks up the middle. But he can't pass. Or he's a hog. One or the other.
Wayne's had more to do with Jamayne and getting a player that's on the outer you would think a easier task.

The draw and pass may take time to master at this level for him with the speed of the game but I do believe it will get there if that's the issue.. he did do alot of his junior training by himself in England everything else is great just needs to work on that aspect and he will be elite.
But I'd much rather him go himself and take a tackle then butcher a pass that leads to a mistake.

Not sure if I’m also missing your point but I wouldn’t be talking about Isaako in one sentence and calling another player a hog in another.

I was replying to @Sproj wondering if Herbie might join the Dolphins, and pointing out that Dobbo is certain Jamayne will be headed there. Which opens the question, with both off contract which would you go after if you were Wayne? Bear in mind, Wayne's conceit is that he can pick up broken players for cheap, give them a polish and fix them.

Everyone here is saying Herbie, Herbie. Forgetting it cuts both ways, that we'll have competition to sign him.

Jamayne scored twice the tries of Herbie, before he was dropped. They're both excellent goal kickers. They both have an impressive turn of pace. When he's on fire, Jamayne is electric. But he also blunders. Herbie didn't leave much of an impression for all the yards he ran. We had the second worst attacking record in the league. When Staggs returned the difference between the centres was chalk and cheese.

Maybe Wayne will think Herbie has more potential and target him. I don't know. But before you buy into the done deal that we're offloading Jamayne, consider we haven't re-signed Herbie either.

It's an interesting conundrum. Though I think it's fair to guess Kevvie doesn't think he can fix Jamayne. He seems to be right on the outer. Something is going on there.

I’d take Herbie everyday of the week. Isaako has too many brain snaps and dumb plays.

I’d put Herbie on a wing though, with either Lee or Cobbo at left centre.

Draw and passing is a skill, takes time to master. Most junior players haven't properly learnt it. As Johnny92 said he is new to the position. You watch next year if he's in the centres, give him some time.

Hopefully Wayne wants isaako😄. Jamayne is a silky smooth footballer but he's also a not very smart footballer, and also a hog. Both can kick goals, both can step and run fast. Both aren't great at passing.
It was reported that Dolphins did make an offer but Isaako is looking for more $$$.

Lol. Herbie was fantastic, blame his plodding support for not being able to capitalise on his line breaks, not him.

When Milf, Glenn and Oates are your support players and they either cant keep up or can't be fucked what do you expect.

Watch his line breaks, try find the support player that isn't marked or 10 meters back.

Yeah, not buying that. You saying Coates and Oates don't know how to support?

Staggs managed to find support. Herbie didn't look for it.

I will say that. Oates was no where on most those line breaks. Coates was on the other side of the field - if Coates was on his left he may have had someone to pass too.

No doubts that he is reluctant to pass but you definitely exaggerate. Also most his line breaks happen in our own half - if the team was any good they would capitalise on it the next play but they don’t.

Herbie definitely has a run first attitude which is fair enough considering he's one of the best runners in the NRL. It's not like he can't pass, probably just that he hasn't learnt how to pass like a good centre yet, people are forgetting that he has only really played one full season in the position.

I think he is worth more than winger money and that's why we will lose him to the Dolphins.

The thing with Herbie is that last time he was off contract every man and his dog were chasing him and he would've got offers from other clubs and codes that were a lot larger than what we offered. I think money won't be a problem.

It's nice to have some blokes that will take playing for the Broncos over a bit more cash.

Wayne will 100% prefer Issako and will also get the best out of him as I believe he has more upside than Herbie.

A focused and firing Jamayne would be all Bennett needs to mould him into a fullback. He does have good experience with fullbacks (Boyd, Lockyer, Latrell)

Guarantee Issako signs with the dolphins.

Small sample but it's obvious. Oates is either marked or not even in frame, same with Milf and Glenn.

That's a whole season's worth of highlights.

Here's an even smaller sample - just 1 match, not even a highlight reel - between two centres who play like centres:
