Orford confirms Super League switch

Matt Orford says there is "nothing sinister" in his departure from NRL high-fliers Manly to join English Super League club Bradford Bulls.

Halfback Orford, the 2008 Dally M winner, announced on Monday he will join former Sea Eagles 2008 premiership winners Steve Menzies, Glenn Hall and Heath L'Estrange at the English outfit.

Rumors that Mitch Pearce is a chance of heading to Manly..

The Brian Smith model involves a no dickheads approach and a team full of players on roughly the same average salary. I'm sure he will want to tinker with the current list at Bondi, ala what he did with the Knights. Mason seems to be the first casualty and with Pearce being a bit difficult to deal with, this could have legs.

Yeah there is a few conflicting reports. One version says he was told his services weren't required and to look elsewhere, while others were saying he wanted a release but Manly wouldn't grant it. But from all reports he is back training with Sea-Eagles [icon_shru

I rate him highly.

No big loss to the game. Orford is one of the most frustrating players to watch.

Mmmm tell me about it... I've always kind of wandered what he would be like to have in your team. Honestly, I dont hate on him as much as other people... but you would be tearing your hair out sometimes with him. In saying that I'm really glad he's got that 08 ring... Can't take that one away from him

I actually didn't mind him when he was at the Storm until that semi against us where he took a dive and cost us a try. And since he's been at Manly I've grown to dislike him even more. Good riddance.

Very dissapointed, not many of you know this, but Manlys actually my 2nd team so i'll be very sad to see him go.

Despite all his whinging talents, he was always a modest player imo. He never was a big mouth.
