It leaked pretty early on. I’m sure vossy said something not long after kick off and then the tweets started going off.

I think it was a clear line in the sand and for me it made watching another embarrassing performance more tolerable because I know changes are being made. There’s no more whispers and innuendo.

I agree it was poor form to let Nine corner him like that but he could’ve easily said no comment and walked off.

I don’t think this is any less disrespectful than him meeting with Madge and then saying he didn’t, or breaking COVID restrictions and calling the roosters.

I don’t think it’s a PR disaster at all. Imagine what the media would have looked like if we lost 46-0 and this wasn’t the talking point. That would’ve been far more embarrassing. Instead all the talk was about if the players were worth keeping or not, and how the club has decided enough is enough. Given how bad the team is travelling and how awful this performance was, I think the club has come out of that game in complete control of the narrative.
 
The TPJ thing had been coming, he changed managers after Moses was deregistered, so his new manager wouldn’t have wanted to wait for his cut. Hence the Tigers meeting. His manager went to the club asking if they had him in their plans long term trying to provoke extension talks and the club said they’d get back to him. They got back to him.

Another reason why anyone associated with nine or fox needs to get the **** out of the club immediately especially within the staff ranks.
 
After last night's game - the rot started with two-six agains in the first half which led to the Rabbits first try - then the club announcing without explanation they are letting go their best impact forward. Lodge to follow.

I just wonder how much of this has to happen before people realise that the NRL and the Brisbane Board are performing a controlled demolition of the Brisbane Broncos to make way for a second and possibly third Brisbane team.

How much utter rubbish has to happen?

He is on track to leave souths in shambles as well.
I said it in another thread, he is a master manipulator and a talented coach and im certain he ensures when he leaves a club that its a club he wont have to worry about wherever he ends up coaching next.

Honestly why shouldn’t he be smug? He had a plan, it was disregarded and he was treated abominably on his way out, and now the clubs fallen to pieces.

whether or not TPJ is a team player, have to feel sorry for him in a way. there's no doubting he's busted his arse this year in a broken arse team. yeah he makes dumb decisions on and off the field but he does have a lot of heart which this team sorely lacks.

I love TPJ, I'm a huge fan of him actually but he's whored himself out twice now while under contract, so I'm not going to feel pity for him now that the club has told him to find a new place.

Yep, his execution might not always be the best but he has certainly taken it upon himself to target opposition players in certain games and his efforts on Fifita and Walker helped us get 2 of our wins this season. Not sure who in our current squad replaces that.

After having time to sleep on the TPJ news i am not against us moving on from him as i get the argument that without change we are just going to see the same results and he has been a part of a pretty bad team for a number of seasons now.

I can really see him unloading on the club if given the chance once he has officially gone but up until that time i will have a soft spot for the bloke whichever club he ends up at.

Such hope and optimism at the start of the Pies era with a forward pack boasting Fifita, TPJ, Haas, Lodge and Flegler, how quickly it has crumbled...
 
He’s facing a 3 week suspension for a crusher tackle due to loading. With the bye he won’t play for another month now. Hopefully that means we won’t see him in a broncos jumper again.

Only makes it harder to offload him now though, but Wests are stupid enough to still want him.

Yea those are some good points, i didn't look at it like that.
I guess i just feel like all of this stuff would play out better in private.
Its a two edged sword though after taking your perspective into account in that if Broncos handle it quietly, us fans scream for change and news and whine that nothing is getting done, and when it does play out publicly, it looks a shambles.

Im leaning towards TPJ not having a ton of heart, and more being advised by his manager to play his ass off in a wooden spoon team to attract a bigger contract elsewhere.

I have really loved watching TPJ play for the Broncos but as others have said, he keeps testing the market while signed with us so **** him, he can **** off too.
