Parcell vs. KNik

I'm a big Parcell fan, although I am still waiting to see his attack shine. Where Kodi has done some really good stuff out of dummy half, Matt is still looking tentative, but he can only get better with more confidence.
In defensive terms, there is no comparison imo, and to put in really simple, we would've lost in the last minute today if that was KNik instead of Parcell

I hope that Knik and Parcell are used depending on the opposition. I agree that if knik is playing yesterday he doesn't make that tackle that parcell does, but by the same token if we are a couple behind late in the game I'm not confident that parcell can spark some points like knik can.

Parcell defence has always been oustanding; he's still the Jets' top tackler with 444 and only 15 misses and he's missed the last three games. Yesterday's tackle was just the norm and expected.

His attack isn't lacking; that's jus the way it has fallen so far. When he goes no one will catch him.

I said in October when I broke the story he'd signed he is a footballer a pure footballer with unbelievable football genes.

Just like Luke Skywalker- only now do you understand.

The Nik boys are freaks and nobody can complain about having either of them in our squad but Parcell may just be my favourite young Bronco.

He broke the club 2.5km record previously held by Granville)...twice...within an hour.

He set the new record for the 1.8km at the club.

Those who work closely with him have claimed he may be the fastest hooker in rugby league. He can run 40m in 5 seconds.

He was due to graduate civ eng in December (though I haven't heard any updates on that yet). This isn't footy related but to do that with all the destructions of a sporting career and at such a young age shows he has a bit between the ears.

And like 1910 already mentioned, he puts in consistent impressive defensive performances. Not just work rate but quality. Some of you guys are saying that the game winning tackle in the dying moments against the storm wouldn't have happened with knik in that position but I'd go as far as saying the majority of our squad wouldn't have made that tackle under the same circumstances.

I think given enough time and confidence he could start making Macca quite nervous.

Parcell was outstanding yesterday. If anything, he played within himself. That half break that he made that was coming all game... there was an offload on for Milford on the inside that went begging.

I think Nikorima would have chanced a pass.

And the match winning tackle.

BUT!

Hodges always takes the best running opporunties out of dummy half, which severly dilutes the advantage of a good running hooker (unless you coach that bloke be off the right arm of Hodges when he goes from dummy half - Macca has never been able to exploit it).

Nikorama has that x factor about him. He will win games off his own bat in the NRL soon. Nothing like having a bit of unpredictability about your attack late in the halves

I was having this exact conversation with my wife yesterday!

Personally, I prefer Parcell, I think he is better defensively and while he is not quite as unpredictable as Kodi, it's not as if he's showing nothing in attack. Quite a few times he's stolen 10m's from a quick dh sprint that's helped given us a roll on in momentum.

I think Parcell is going to keep his spot even when Kodi comes back from injury, it'll only be Parcell having a loss of form or an injury that'll prevent him from keeping his spot in the side.

So... he'll be better than Capewell?

Why not have both?

By that I mean, I think Bennett will pick either one depending on the team we're playing against. I think against a team like the Storm, Roosters, Souths etc, you probably go with Parcell who tightens up the middle a bit more and offers a better defensive frame for the ruck, but if you're playing against a Parra, Knights, Raiders etc, I think you go with Kodi for his attacking flair.

At the end of the day, what a fantastic headache to have. "Which fantastic game changing bench utility do we run with"

It takes a special kind of bitter and jealous, to maintain an opinion so obviously wrong and take it out on a guy doing well. Great 'fan' you are.

How upset yesterday did you get when he made that tackle? Cheering every week for him to fail, must of been heart breaking yesterday.

I personally love stories of guys like Parcell and on a sad day for real league fans I'll take it.

I don't know how that could be construed as a slight aimed at Parcell. On the contrary, I wish every player who wears the Broncos jersey their very best and wish they could all succeed. My point was more towards your "only now do you understand" comment. I don't know what sort of Emperor complex you have, I was just pointing out that this is not the first time you've talked up a player. The Capewell example just says to me that your track record is not quite as impressive as your boasting.

I wasn't even writing on here when Capewell went from Redcliffe to Souths and he left the Broncos a month after I joined and I certainly don't watch Windsor games. I'd be shocked if I have even mentioned his name In that month apart from to say he is leaving. That's a complete fabrication and nothing adds up for me to ever have written about Capewell.

I never said you posted it here.

I don't care about this tiff but boy,was 1910 bringing up an unrelated tragedy to emotionally hijack the argument was some girlfriend level fight logic right there.

I think I finally cracked 1910s real identity, he's my year 12 girlfriend Sophie.

That's illegal.

Believe it or not, it isn't. A girl in year 12 would most likely be 17, 16 minimum. Therefore, (and without knowing theshed's age) it is actually very much legal in most circumstances, like it or not. Boy this just got sidetracked this thread.
