No one has answered my question yet either.

IF YOUR 6 AND 9 ARE PLAYING LIKE SHIT THEN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOUR 7 IS SUPPOSED TO ORGANISE A TEAM.

If Wallace as the senior player can't pull the 6/9 in and take control then maybe he isn't ready to lead the team. Surely he has enough experience by now to know how to do just that.

Doesn't matter if you play at 6/7 or 9, if you are the senior player your role is to lift the rest of the team, Wallace failed at that.

Votes for Wallace in POTS and the radio commentators reckon Wallace was the best on ground in the first half and the best for the Broncos over 80 mins.

No surprise there.

The people that are knocking Wallace are purely using him as a scape goat because:

A) He's the halfback
B) He dropped 2 balls. LOLZ.

Wow, that's short-sighted.

How about you read some of the posts in this thread?

Short Sighted? oh you mean like the thread devoted solely to crucifying him?

He was too busy coming up with every play in attack, tackling, organising, doing 95% of the kicking and setting up our tries.

A) is a perfectly valid reason. I'm not sitting on the 'Wallace always has and always will be shite' bandwagon but based on tonight's game.. I thought the forwards tried their guts out. They made metres and held the defence in the middle tight considering they were coming up against Farah.

The main reason we lost is because we lacked polish in attack and couldn't convert field position into points. Wallace, as the main and most experience PLAYMAKER in the side, deserves to cop most of the criticism for our total lack of organisation in attack. Looking at tonight alone, he's hardly being judged unfairly.

Mind you, his kicking game was good and you're right he is the best defensive halfback in the game.

Wallace is a solid halfback. He's no Alfie or Lockyer, that's for sure, but he does a solid job.

Key word: solid. He's not going to rip a team apart asides from the rare occasion but we are a better team with Wallace than we are without him.

He is better than Solid when at his best IMO. Shame we don't see his best enough.

Here we go again, scape goat time.

Did anyone not see his great defence and good kicking game? Tonight he proved that he is the best defensive halfback in the game. He also proved tonight that his kicking game is one of the best in the comp. Oh wait a second, he also set up that try for Teo.

Oh but he dropped a few balls...must mean he's crap. [eusa_doh Don't mind me..

Are you guys for farking real?

I know what you guys are alluding to. His ability to control the game and direct the team. Hang on a second!! We lacked direction and that wasn't just because of Wallace, it was because of Wallace, Norman and Macca together. This combination has barely played a game together FFS. Macca's service from dummy half was poor, Norman is still VERY young and lacks experience, and despite how talented Ben Hunt might be, he lacks polish. We were playing a full strength Tigers team who aren't walk overs. What the **** were you people expecting? Seriously??

Baffling.

I know what you mean. we lose a game and everyone on here needs someone to blame. at the moment that person is
Wallace.

No, you look for reasons. In this game, the main reason we lost was absolutely no attacking structure, no direction from the middle. The defence was terrific, the commitment was terrific.

The leadership was non- existent. And as the senior play-maker and "leader" that was Wallace's job. He did it well last time Locky was away. Since then, his game has been average. We won't win this comp with an average half.
Tragedy is Wallace is so much better than that

I agree, and that's what really frustrates me.

It's obvious he is talented. On his day, he has an excellent passing and kicking game, and can spot deficiencies in the opposition's defensive line. Watch his last couple of games, and he doesn't look a thing like the player we all know.

Have you heard of State of Origin?

If you think otherwise then maybe you should watch some more rugby league games to try and understand the role of a halfback.

Honestly mate, why do you bring this into all of your arguments?

If someone disagrees with you, it's because they don't understand the game or watch enough footy.

It's unnecessary and makes you look like a condescending tit.

Not a personal attack BTW, just saying.

That's why he needs time off to get his shit together. Either that or Ivan puts a rocket up his arse. Not Rock - Wallace. [icon_evillaugh

We won the comp with Shane Perry as a halfback, we definitely can win it with Wallace there. You guys are way too hard on him imo.

So we should say well done Peter. You're just as good as Mr Perry. Just what we need

No, he's Shane Perry

No I am not saying that at all, but the flavour I have been getting from some of the posts is that he should be put against a brick wall and shot. Yes he has some faults, but a lot of what Rock has said about McCullough and Norman is on the mark in my view.

Good for me. Maybe it is supposed to be condescending. What's your point?

I find it incredible that people can sit here and blame a halfback for our organisational problems when our hooker ad five-eight were atrocious tonight.

The only player I can remember who was able to still control a game without having their 5/8 or hooker play well is Andrew Johns. And Peter Wallce isn't Andrew Johns.[/quote:ucdb6amy]

OMG, do you ever watch any matches?

Don't you understand the role of a halfback?

LOLZ.

Macca yes. Norman no. Norman did ok given he was playing in an attack as structured as porridge
