Damn.

Based on those odds. I'd be pretty happy with pocket money right now

I'm not a massive fan of farnworth, he has his faults. But there is no way his spot is under threat. He won't go from "back of the year" to not in the side, regardless if you agree with the award or not.
And Lee didn't even play 1st grade last year, and has actively stated he is happy for this "opportunity to prove himself".
And this bs about Walters starting lol. Gamble and Kelly are both coming back from injury, you know what they can do. Why would you not try out your options after that. Walters may make the side in paix's place I think. But I actually think that's more to do with paixs ongoing development then anything else. From all reports he's held in very high regards by the coaching staff and I think they are hoping he becomes a starting hooker when the chance arises. He's nowhere near his level but from what I've seen of paix the most similar top level player comparison would be cook I think. Which would be good for Reynolds and us.
Just reporting what's been happening at training bud. I'd taper those expectations a bit!

Everyone in the top 30 have an opportunity to start. So this "no way bla bla bla happens" is a bit bullshit.

Again, just letting the people know what's been going on at training.

Riki’s footwork wasn’t the greatest when he played left last year. Was running the wrong lines half the time. I think they’ll try it again but good chance Capewell plays left. He’s played left at club and origin level and killed it. He looks more natural there but obviously Kikau played left for the panthers so he couldn’t.

I think Riki on the right with Staggs will cause all sorts of mayhem. We could have almost anyone running off them on the wing as attack will be easy for them. We do need a decent defender there so I'd be looking to have Mead or that Perera bloke if he can defend. Oates, Herbie and Capewell will be a killer combo in terms of getting us out of our own end and will alos chime in with a fair few tries in 2022.

Capewell’s strength is not metre eating, he doesn’t make that many.

Not sure how this team will go but I wouldn't mind giving it a run..
I love a good Haas avocado and Oats for breakfast but I’m not sure about them in my footy team.

Yeah that’s my side I love Ryan James but we do have to remember he got chucked to Bulldogs on loan last year from the Raiders who from memory were struggling for numbers at that point. That’s our best side and I think Cobbo is a better centre but if we get 2020 Brenko I would shift him to the wing and bring him in instead of Oates.

James and Palasia both deserve to be ahead of Piakura. Piakura needs more time in Q Cup.

James was great as a starter for the dogs. Very reliable through the middle and good output and defence. I think he’d be great off the bench when Haas is off the field

I reckon he ideally needs a role off the bench but the club doesn't have the depth to provide him with that, he's one of the best mobile backrowers we've got. I remember the Souths game where Gagai cut us to pieces, Riki fell asleep at the wheel.

Don't think he's conditioned for a solid 80 yet in the NRL.

Robati isn’t far off taking Riki’s spot I reckon. Depending on form Riki could easily lose his spot.

I feel like Robati is almost to Riki what Cobbo is to Niu. A better player who isn’t that much younger or inexperienced but because Niu/Riki have already been mismanaged that they’ll keep their spots while Cobbo/Robati get to actually develop correctly.

I think Rd1 barring injuries this will be close to the 17:

1. Niu
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Farnsworth
5. Cobbo
6. Billy
7. Arey
8. Haas
9. Turpin
10. Carrigan
11. Riki
12. Capwell
13. Hetherington

14. Gamble
15. James/Fleg
16. Palacia/TC
17. Jensen/Kennedy

As some have mentioned, Piakaura needs min in reggies before being thrown into FG. I feel Cobbo will excel on the wing (hard good work ethic from own end in the few games in FG) and will develop this year to then take the FLB spot (Tom, Darrius have spent time on wing before taking full time FLB). Farnsowth was a great worker out of our own end as well last season, Oates (Lee/Periera) will keep him on his toes. Carrigan in a prop, need some hard hitting and ball work from Hethero in the middle. I know many will say Gamble or Kelly at 6, but honestly Kelly is week to week away from injury, great cover, but a concern looking forward. Gamble I feel isn't an out and out hlf, Billy just needs a crack IMO. Gamble a great 14 or Billy if not, could be the case turpin is spelled, walters to 9 and gamble to 6 or Gamble into lock and play that ball playing role.

James is good on the bench as he comes on and works, the younger guys come on with too much energy sometimes and force an error. Fleg needs to find his first season form. I think Capwell outside of Billy to protect him, and riki will need to work on his game, but can see where he may not play full 80 each week.

Just my two cents

Flegler is still suspended

Last time I watched NRL the 2nd rowers don`t touch the ball in our own half . Getting out of our half usually goes something like ;
Winger - fullback - winger - centre - Prop or Lock -- Kick .

In the opposition half 2nd rowers see the ball .
