If Folau can keep up his current form then I'd be happy to keep him. He's finally living up to the potential we all saw in him 2 years ago and running with some purpose.

Yeah I'd rather keep Folau than get either Slater or Inglis.

I think a lot of people hold a grudge against Issy because his recruitment coincided with us losing Hannant, Civoniceva, Ennis etc he, probably wrongly, cops a lot of ill feeling for being the bloke that cost us good players. I'd love to see him hang around, he's only 21 with a ton of improvement to go.

Looking at our roster at the moment, we're only really lacking one or two experienced forwards. Apparently Hannant is ours and with Michaels, Sims and Setu (only Setu's actually playing for the Broncs anyway) getting the chop there should be enough for Folau as well. Then we can upgrade who we need to upgrade and maybe land another forward as well.

So, we're in good shape really.

I do agree keeping Folau would be awesome he can only really get better from here on end.

Yep. Keeping Folau and getting Hannant is very likely I think. Folau seems to be cut about missing out on the Aus team and stuff, he has seen Thurston sign a deal with the Cows and Gasnier coming back to League. I think he might just stay.

This team below is definitely a premiership winning team.

1. Hoffman
2. Wintersten
3. Hodges
4. Folau
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Hannant
9. McCullough
10. Kenny
11. Thaiday
12. Teo
13. Parker

14. Glenn
15. Tronc
16. Anderson
17. Gillett

Wow...just wow.
So the only difference between this years way under the cap team and next years team is Hannant? Surely we can afford one more good player.

Surely players will be getting upgrades.. Gillett would be in line for an upgrade for sure.

Hmm true, I guess with any left over space we should re-sign other promising players.

Much better to sign up all our youngsters and just get Hannant and Folau or a replacement for him..

As well as not losing guys like Hunt, Norman, Lui, Dodds, Gillett, McGuire, and Copley that will be our future, as Bruno has said theres not much point putting the time and money into these young guys and then spending up big on players from the market. We need to get consistancy in our roster for the next 4-5 years, and the only areas we are lacking are one marquee prop and if Folau leaves, one marquee back, and they are the only areas we need to strengthen from outside the club.

Tronc is far from being guaranteed a deal for next year, and wouldnt be our highest priority.

I will be very very very very surprised if Boyd returned to the Broncos. After the toiletgate affair he took a similar attitude to K Hunt of "woo is me, everyone is picking on me blah blah blah" - cry me a river. He felt the Broncos club didn't look after them during that whole time.

Thank god we didn't. I don't want to see Boyd in Broncos gear ever ever again!

Good news about Hannant, he will end up here no matter what the Bulldogs end up doing.

On the whole Slater/Inglis/Falou debate.. Like Schmix said, if he keeps up his form of the past few weeks for his entire contract, I'd be happy to see him stay here. I'm not a massive fan of Inglis or Slater for that matter but if they were playing for the Broncos, I'd be cheering them on.

Just like I hate Ennis now, only because he isn't playing for us [icon_lol1.

Look guys if we can use the money that we were spending on Sims, Setu and Michaels on upgrading the young kids contracts. Sign Hannat and re sign Folau and than still have another 300-400k spare I will be laughthing.

My hit list would be:

Inglis(fullback)
Blair(One of my favourite non-Broncos players and one of the in form second rowers at the moment. Great in defence and atttack!
Tolman( Who doesn't want Hannant and Tolman as our starting props for the next 8+ years!

I think we should punt Hodgo and go for Inglis and Slater. If the figures being spoken about are anywhere close to accurate then we should be able to have a backline like

1 Slater
2 Yow ye
3 Folau
4 Inglis
5 Kemp/ Winter
6 Locky, Norman 2012
7 Wallace

A beefed up deal...can't say I like the sound of that. I think he's already being overpayed, and they want to offer him more?
Nothing surprises me with Bruno.
a) No one knows for sure what Folau is being paid in the first place
b) For all we know, the beefed up part could be third party deals rather than an extra amount that we have to pay him.

I think you should punt yourself from being a Bronco fan.

Hodgo is awesome and when fit & in form is the best center in the game, he should & will retire @ Red Hill.
I still love him for that statement pointing @ Cam Smith & telling Buderus his number 1 your number 2 with a big cheeky smile....[eusa_clap.gi [eusa_clap.gi

Except for every 10 games he plays, 9 of them he plays like crap.

You on the plane yet Nashy?

Maybe you should become a Bronco fan and take off your Hodgo coloured glasses.

There is no value in him, always injured, plays well now and then, and please don't go down the loyalty arguement, he spent those chips when he left to the Roosters.

Just thinking...if we do have the reported $800k left in this years cap, could we give that to Folau as the beef up to keep him and in effect not make any difference to our salary cap for the next few years?

Don't get too excited about Falou kids. He hasn't signed anything yet. I'm sure we are not going to offer him anything near what he is being offered by the AFL and Rugby.
