Player Movements & Rumours 2010

If this is true, I hope Winterstein isn't destroyed by the Cowboys he is a talent a very solid winger IMO.

its disappointing because he is a classy player, but no point getting into a bidding war over a winger, if Gagai keeps impressing he is going to need a spot, Maranta is a good prospect, so too is Kahu.

Duffy would be a great buy if Storm choose to release him, hes big, fast, great leaper and has plenty of growing to do yet.

Not to mention we've already got Kemp and Yow Yeh.

Sad to see him go, but if there's one position we can afford to lose a player, it's probably the wing.

Hopefully he can finish off with a strong season, seems to have bulked up from last year.

Quite disappointed if true... But we can cover him easily so it's not the end of the world. I really like Winterstein, but I'm happy it's the Cowboys that have signed him and not NZ or a Sydney club.

@ Nopatience - Duffy is quite a talent and would be a good buy if he came cheap. But we don't really need him, Kemp comes onto the wing and we have Copley, Beale (even though they are preferred centres or fullbacks), Rivett and in the future Gagai as backups.

Rivett...no thanks. :P

Kemp was only ever signed to 1 year, he may not be here next year either, he seems to have dropped off the planet the last month. Would be a strange descision to let Winterstein go without even a competitive deal, and then give his jumper to the guy that cant get a run now, especially with the funds we have available. It would be a big punt to let players walk if they had the cash to re-sign them, unless they were confident that cash was tied up elsewhere.

I don't think Kemp will want to leave IMO. He is injured at the moment asn behind 2 wingers who are doing the job.

Kemp has been injured, thats why he hasn't got a run of late. Surely Winterstein must have got a pretty healthy deal for us to let him go. Kemp loves it at Brisbane, and we wouldn't have brought him back if we were just going to ditch him again. I can't see us letting him go, plus it's not like he would be highly sought after at the moment or would be wanting a big contract.

Anyway, I will believe it when I see it. The recent Lagi Setu thing has pretty much made me not give a shit until it is confirmed now haha.

Kemp wanted to come back to the Broncos badly, not sure he was in the Broncos plans, hence the 1 year min contract, he had signed with the warriors for 3 years, the Broncos had moved on. I wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt there next year.

He got injured way back at the same time as Folau IIRC.

It'd be pretty silly to let him go, considering Folau is leaving and Winterstein is supposedly on his way to the Cowboys.

It was pretty rough too - busted ribs/ lung I think
He had recovered from that weeks ago.
Then came back and re-injured it IIRC. I have no idea what hes doing ATM.
I hadnt heard he was injuried and he is not reported as being injuried by the Broncos, but noone seems to know where he is playing.

I doubt he would've recovered from broken ribs that quickly. Something smells fishy though with him not on the injury list and never being named.

Maybe he died and the Broncs are too worried to break the news?
